geezer Posted yesterday at 04:48 PM Posted yesterday at 04:48 PM I read that North Dakota State has decided to join the Mountain West Conference making the move to FBS. Sacramento State is also making the move joining the MAC. One less school in the MVFC and Big Sky FCS conferences. Quote

I heard that yesterday as well, and wondering if that will put pressure on Montana/Montana State to also make a FBS move. Quote
geezer Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago It's a little interesting that a more or less new twist is occurring in FBS as both of these moves are for football only. NDSU is a member of the Summit for all other sports. The Summit doesn't have enough football playing schools to have their own conference. Both the MVFC and Big Sky have football only members from other conferences with more than enough to maintain their automatic bids so neither should have to hunt for immediate replacements. Quote
NorthoftheBorder Posted 7 hours ago Author Posted 7 hours ago We are going to continue to see movement as schools jockey for position. I do not see either the PAC12 (with SWT.....haha Tx State) or the Mountain West ever really making noise and having success in the CFP, even if expanded to 16 teams. But, I have been wrong before, many times. Quote
