NorthoftheBorder Posted December 8 Posted December 8 From what I know, Winslow would be the biggest loss, followed by Simpson. If in fact they leave. Hope they don’t. The biggest thing I noticed was Winslow and Simpson have reps. Nothing more scum sucking and bottom feeding than agents, whether repping a 9 figure pro athlete or a small school FCS player. This has to be a nightmare for FCS coaches, hell college coaches in general. Quote
NorthoftheBorder Posted Wednesday at 03:21 AM Posted Wednesday at 03:21 AM I guess we can expect most of our all conference players to jump in and shop for a payday. Quote

NorthoftheBorder Posted Wednesday at 08:25 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:25 PM When I was watching the end of the SFA game on TV, and the after game interview with Carthel, he made the comment that a lot the players off of their 2024 team turned down paydays to stay for a chance to win the conference. I guess it turned out well for Carthel and the Jacks, and, I guess I hope it turns out well for the players who stayed! Looks like we will not have that kind of luck. We can fully expect that after every good year by one of the LU players, they will be moving on. Not exactly the same, but LU is somewhat like the line that Brad Pitt said in Moneyball, that the Oakland A's were just a farm team for the Yankees and Red Sox! Quote

The difference between the A's at the time and Lamar is that the A's were winning the west. Lamar has to win the conference to improve all of the players stock. I hope Lamar is able to go find / get the FBS players out of the portal that want to play and fill the holes where an improvement in quality and experience will really raise the teams performance..
