geezer Posted Wednesday at 12:12 AM Posted Wednesday at 12:12 AM Cards off to a good start making three three-pointers in the first four minutes and out to a 14-5 lead. Quote
geezer Posted Wednesday at 12:55 AM Author Posted Wednesday at 12:55 AM After a good shooting and scoring start Lamar hangs on for a two-point lead at the half 35-33. East picked up his second foul with about 13:30 left in the half and Lee picked up a second foul with ten minutes left in the half. Both of them sat out the remainder of the half and Lamar's offense went stale and the shooting percentage went down also. Quote
geezer Posted Wednesday at 02:02 AM Author Posted Wednesday at 02:02 AM Lamar stays out of foul trouble in the second half and slowly builds a lead to get an 82-61 lead. Lee leads the way scoring 28 points, East gets a double double. Holifield just misses double figures. Couple of observations, first haven't seen Barrs play since Christmas break, is he injured or has he left the team. Also Knight has missed both of the last two games. Now for those that have played, Lamar needs their bench players to score. Lowe passes up wide open shots, mid-way through the shot clock and the Cards end up forcing a shot as the clock runs out. The other non-starters need to make their shots. Gambrell and Knight both shooting less than 35%. Quote
lu cards Posted Wednesday at 02:09 AM Posted Wednesday at 02:09 AM Lamar was -4 1/2 at home against this team. Should have bet the farm but it’s hard to trust this team. Still hit for a few 💰. Quote

Brooks took a big step back from last year. Have to find some donors to pony up some 💰. Quote
geezer Posted Wednesday at 04:21 AM Author Posted Wednesday at 04:21 AM Whether it is coaching or talent I don't know but Lamar still has big steps to take to get to the next level. I think expectations going into the season was twenty wins and in the top three for the regular season along with another trip to the championship game for the tournament. A top three finish is probably unreachable at this point, a twenty win season is also a big stretch as Lamar will need to win nine of the last ten games including away games at three schools they could have defeated at home but didn't and repeat games against both of the top two teams in the conference standings. coachacola Posted Thursday at 12:47 PM Posted Thursday at 12:47 PM SFA made a big turnaround in one year. Here at Lamar it's the same story every year. Quote
