geezer Posted Saturday at 12:14 AM Posted Saturday at 12:14 AM The Cards open this year's season at home against Oakland University out of Michigan with a three-game series starting this evening and finishing up Sunday afternoon. Quote
geezer Posted Saturday at 02:36 AM Author Posted Saturday at 02:36 AM Lamar is up 6-0 in the top of the eighth. It has been foggy since about the third inning and the fog has gotten thick enough that the coaches with the umpire have suspended the game until tomorrow afternoon. Lamar's starting pitcher, Olivier lasted 6.2 innings and looked pretty good. Quote
geezer Posted Saturday at 11:41 PM Author Posted Saturday at 11:41 PM Cards finish the first game with an 8-2 win and then come from behind to take a 9-7 win in the scheduled Saturday game. Cards pitching wasn't the best early giving up two runs in both the first and second innings and a run in the third to be down 5-1 after three innings. The Cards score at least one run in each of the next five innings including four in the bottom of the seventh. Lamar has a chance for the sweep tomorrow. Quote
puddin tane Posted yesterday at 01:04 AM Posted yesterday at 01:04 AM Yup, starting pitching may be a concern..who knows, only first start. Kid LU brought in to finish was flat out filthy! 20 something hits, 13? Walks, game 2 lasted forever Quote
geezer Posted yesterday at 09:57 PM Author Posted yesterday at 09:57 PM Lamar drops the third game 3-2 giving up the winning run in the top of the tenth. Cards had plenty of opportunities to push other runs across throughout the game but didn't get the job done. Next game is Tuesday at Texas and then back home Wednesday with Kansas. Quote
