coachacola Posted March 8 Posted March 8 All the hype about a great transfer portal class was just that - hype. Quote
geezer Posted March 9 Author Posted March 9 Hype, that's been a common problem across the Lamar sports. Supposedly good players don't deliver. Quote

coachacola Posted March 18 Posted March 18 They lost to an average Sammy State team last night. Quote
geezer Posted Monday at 12:23 AM Author Posted Monday at 12:23 AM Lamar winds up winning two of three at Corpus Christi, but it wasn't easy. The Cards lost the opening game giving up four runs in the first and only scoring one on the evening. In game two Lamar won 7-3 but had to score six runs over the last five innings. This afternoon Lamar jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the Cards first two innings but then gave up ten runs before scoring one in the top of the sixth before giving up five more runs for CC to go to the top of the ninth with a six-run lead. Lamar managed to score six in the ninth to tie the game and three in the tenth to get the win. Lamar has quality pitching depth. The bull pen is terribly inconsistent. Even in the starting pitching Olivier has been the only one to be consistent so far this season. Despite all of this Lamar is still tied for first and 8-4. Quote
lu cards Posted Monday at 01:06 AM Posted Monday at 01:06 AM Heard they lost some key arms to injuries. We getting any of these guys back ? Quote
geezer Posted 17 hours ago Author Posted 17 hours ago Cards get the midweek win over Tarleton, but it's another one that wasn't pretty. Cards get single runs in the 3rd, 4th and 5th to take a three-run lead. Cards had a two-run lead after the fourth inning, and the Cards made a pitching change in the fifth. Relief pitcher gave up two hits but no runs in the fifth and got the first out in the sixth before giving up a run scoring double in the top of the sixth followed by another pitching change. The new pitcher gave up a couple of singles allowing the second run to score. Lamar made another pitching change in the top of the seventh getting a one, two, three inning. In the top of the eighth the relievers gave up another run to tie the game. Lamar pitching managed to keep TSU off of the scoreboard in the ninth and tenth before Lamar finally scored two runs on a walk off home run with two out. Lamar returns to action Friday evening hosting UIW. Quote
