We agree.

So my thoughts on the game? I'm pissed about the low snaps and turn overs other than that I can tell we will be better than last year, I really believe it.

Defense is much better and the offense is making plays that it never would of last year. Last year all we had was the jump ball to JJ Hayes and Jackson. We have more than that this year.

let me re-phrase something...gotta go with the more mobile passing qb. AAW is still upset over the fate of 'the saviour'

Figured that would get you going.

I was actually thinking Berry should be the man.

Here is a few highlights from me:

1. Was there a KJ sighting tonight??

2. The O-Line has to get better.

3. Hang on to the damn ball.

4. Easily the best team we will play all year.

5. Very impressed with Garrett/ Sims

6. Not so impressed with Moz/ Berry

7. Very disappointed in not scoring, especially against 2nd/3rd teams in 2nd half.

8. Very pleased with not allowing a point in the 2nd half.

I fully expect LU to rebound and pick up a win against PVAM next weekend.

Two fumbles in the first two possessions for Lamar let to 10 easy points for the Cajuns. Then 3 LU defenders missed tackling their receiver and he runs 80 yards which leads to another touchdown. The LU fumbles in their next possession and gives ULL another easy 3 points. That's 20 easy points for ULL right there.

How the QBs fared...

Mossakowski: 12-19, 80 yards, 0 int, 98.5 rating

Berry: 6-10, 76 yards, 1 int, 103.8 rating

MVP for Lamar: Kollin Kahler, 6 punts, 52.7 average, 3 inside the 20

ok, some personal observations:

1. Too many turnovers and mistakes on offense. That gave them at least 28-30 points.

2. Defense has improved a lot from last year. The only thing is the 2 big plays they gave up in the 1st half. I don't care if UL 2nd squad was on the field. it was a shutout in the 2nd half. Something to build on.

3. Garrett and Sims will be the 2-headed monster we need for the running game.

4. Inconsistant QB play. Berry did better than Moss. Moss seemed a little flustered.

5 The O-line needs a lot of help. Too many sacks and bad snaps.

Overall just review the film one time and burn it. Let's chalk this to experience and move foward. I actually think we might have a fair shot with Hawaii, but playing USC can make you look worse than you may actually be.

Rushing...

Sims: 14 carries, 48 yards, 3.4 avg (15 longest)

Garrett: 8 carries, 31 yards, 3.9 avg (10 longest)

LU QBs were sacked 5 times, ULL QBs none.

Defense didn't lose this game, the offense did. We knew the offense was a work in progress coming into the season but it's not a good sign they couldn't score at all.

If we dont rebound and beat PV next week, the season is pretty much done. Sad to say, but true. Attendance will drop at home, especially with 3pm games. 3 wins at best. If we beat PV and have some momentum going in to conference play, 4 - 6 wins (considering a possible upset).

Our offense couldn't really score on our own defense, I'm not surprised that we had trouble with ULL. The Offense will improve, and simple things like better exchanges between qb and center and not fumbling will make the offense better.

As said the line needs to make significant improvement, the QBs had a few bad throws too. There were no true INT thrown though, Berry's INT was off the hands of a receiver, that is not a INT IMO the blame is on the receiver.

I always like to take away the longest run to get an idea of how they "really" played:

Rushing...

Sims: 13 carries, 33 yards, 2.54 avg

Garrett: 7 carries, 21 yards, 3.0 avg

It makes it a tad more realistic. I really never noticed either guy playing much better than the other.

just got back from lafayette.glad i made the trip.the cajuns got a good thing going over there.wasnt impressed with the faclities though.like our stadium and fieldhouse much better.ul-l has a good team.you could see the difference in fbs vs fcs talent right away.ul-l had a huge size advantage.i wont go into our offensive struggles but our o-line looked small.we have got to recruit bigger lineman.end of story.i was proud of the defense.they really didnt play that bad.what i did see was for the most part was a little better organization on the sideline.coaches seemed to know what they were doing.players also seemed to stay in focused after we got behind and seemed to be into the game.i hope this is something we can build on.
