I cannot wait to see the freshmen we have now playing in a few years. I believe this is the strongest recruiting class Lamar had had so far. I feel that in the next few years people like Hargis, Richards, Gladney, Handy, Tredway, Baxley, Jones and others will have a huge impact on the team.

We have some very good sophomores to go along with them!

These redshirt freshmen are getting a lot of playing time this year: WR Reggie Begelton, OL Justin Brock and DL Logan Moss. All 3 are local guys and I think both Begelton and Moss were walk-ons.

All I'm gonna say is it's a lot of spread kids and we are playing in a pro set offense...I hope they all stay. The kids that come out of a spread are used to touching the ball .

I agree the Spread look has a lot of kids talking I am hearing but if the really give it a chance playing in the set we are in allows a vast amount of throwing. It is the basic stuff that is being run from it now. If they hang in there as a group and play together next season, I see a ring in the picture the talent level is that good and the mental out look is winning most of them came from programs that mainly won in there District I think they can transfer that winning attitude to the Lamar program if they hang in there being a winner breeds a winning atmosphere, with that coach my open up the play book more fun for the players = better recruits coming on board. 8)

Big difference between high school performance and FCS football especially for mid and lower size high school programs. In high school even at the Texas 5A level how often does a player at any position compete head to head with another D1 quality player? In FCS football it is almost every week and hopefully every practice. College football is a business and an player better be willing to work his rear off for playing time. Many high school stars have never had to work for playing time and when they find out they are going to have to work for it they aren't willing to. I am not pointing fingers at anyone on the LU team, just stating reality. So while I hope for the best I will wait to see the results and in the mean time support the program regardless.

Agree on supporting the team. We DO run a variation of the pro set. Played in it myself. As for our freshmen Woodard said himself they came in in the best shape and are all hard working. I do not think any of them are rumbling for playing time. It is obvious if you have to rely on true freshmen you have a shitty program. All I said was we are not running the spread and I think we would be better in the spread for most of our recruits camefrom spread teams. As for the talent level of FCS and high school. There are some good players on this team but there are some players that could not have started on our high school team.

Not sold on our OC yet. Time will tell but do not get me wrong I support our program. I have 8 season tickets for the last two years.. It is very hard for the freshmen and sophs for they are working toward their turn to play. Woodard has to keep those guys interested. it's tuff years. Holding a program and class together spells success. Keep recruiting big classes and maybe not jump at every JUCO that you think will make us win immediately. Go Cards
