coachacola Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Christopher Dabe @cmdabe Did you know? Lamar plays back-to-back games next season at Louisiana Tech and at Oklahoma State, according to Ray Woodard. Lamar's scheduled to play Okie State on 9/14 while La Tech already has games scheduled on 9/7 and 9/21 so not sure how that will pan out. With 4 home conference games next year (NW State, UCA, SFA and McNeese and 5 away games (2 FBS, 3 conference), I bet we'll see at least 1 non-D1 home game, probably 2 of them. Quote
BigNasty92 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Dabe said back to back games... would 9/7 be the open date? Quote
coachacola Posted December 12, 2012 Author Posted December 12, 2012 La Tech, OSU, UCA, NW State, and SFA game dates are posted on their school websites. Looks like the SLC is changing the order of the conference games after keeping them the same in 2010 and 2011. 8/31 vs Oklahoma Pandlehandle State ** confirmed ** 9/7 at La Tech ** confirmed ** 9/14 at Oklahoma State ** confirmed ** 9/21 vs Bacone ** confirmed ** 9/28 at Grambling ** confirmed ** 10/5 open 10/12 at SHSU ** confirmed ** 10/19 vs UCA ** confirmed ** 10/26 at SELA ** confirmed ** 11/2 vs Nicholls ** confirmed ** 11/9 at NW State ** confirmed ** 11/16 vs SFA ** confirmed ** 11/23 vs McNeese ** confirmed ** Quote
geezer Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 The NW St game should be a home game since we played up there this year, it is a conference game and there are no changes in conference football membership in 2013. Quote
coachacola Posted December 20, 2012 Author Posted December 20, 2012 Lamar could be playing 12 games again because the NCAA is allowing FCS schools to schedule 12 games in 2013. Both NW State and SFA have 12 games scheduled so I'm guessing Lamar will do the same. Quote
j.doza Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 I also heard that Georgia State(Sun Belt) and South Alabama(Sun Belt) are supposed to come to BMT as well Quote
Mike Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 I also heard that Georgia State(Sun Belt) and South Alabama(Sun Belt) are supposed to come to BMT as well thanks for joining/posting j.doza. Woodard told me last season that there is a rule that doesnt allow FBS schools to play in FCS stadiums and when Georgia State comes to Beaumont it'll be the only time it's going to happen. The only reason its allowed in this case was because GSU was on the LU schedule before they moved up so they were grandfathered in. Quote
coachacola Posted January 2, 2013 Author Posted January 2, 2013 I read that Georgia State has already bought out the contract with Lamar so they are not coming to Beaumont. Quote

coachacola Posted February 12, 2013 Author Posted February 12, 2013 Woodard said they should be announcing the 12 game schedule soon, they are waiting on one more contract to be signed. Grambling will be coming to Beaumont in 2014. The 8/31 and 9/21 games (before and after the FBS games) will be home games. Woodard hasn't confirmed who Lamar will be playing but I still believe one will be Oklahoma Panhandle State. Quote
Guest jlh Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 I heard that Lamar is supposed to play Panhandle state the first game of next year as well. Quote
ammons Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 I had hoped Lamar would play Abilene Christian this year. A match up between two charter members of the Southland to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Conference would have been nice. Quote

Guest NorthoftheBorder Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 I hope the schedule is better but I don't get the impression it will be. Wins over OK Panhandle State shouldn't count toward progress in the program. Wins over Sam, SFA and McNeese would!!! Quote
coachacola Posted February 12, 2013 Author Posted February 12, 2013 We're keeping this thread clean and on topic. Quote
puddin tane Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 it's better in that we dont have nichols and sela coming.... cant get real thrilled over panhandle st... Quote
coachacola Posted February 19, 2013 Author Posted February 19, 2013 Avi Zaleon @avi_zaleon Oklahoma Panhandle State University told me that their football team will play at #Lamar on August 31 #BEscores Quote
coachacola Posted February 22, 2013 Author Posted February 22, 2013 Avi Zaleon @avi_zaleon Georgia State backs out of contract with Lamar. Lamar could get big pay day http://blog.beaumontenterprise.com/inthecards/2013/02/21/georgia-st-backs-out-of-agreement-with-lamar/ Georgia State owes Lamar $100,000. Quote
Guest eagle eye Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Is the Oklahoma State game on 9/14 THE Oklahoma State Cowboys or the Oklahoma Panhandle State team? Kinda makes a difference. Quote
BigNasty92 Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 That would be THE Okie State game. Quote
Guest eagle eye Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Wow! Nice payday for Lamar but I hope we don't need to bring the team home in ambulances. There is no way this team will hold OKSt to 70 points. Don't get me wrong, I think this could benefit Lamar if only to see where they need to be physically to play college ball and to see what a real first class program is. If they bring that back to Beaumont then the ass-whoopin' we take will be worth it. If they just get their butts kicked and don't learn anything then---well---nice payday for Lamar. Quote
coachacola Posted February 25, 2013 Author Posted February 25, 2013 The schedule is set. Oklahoma Panhandle State and Bacone College (both Div 2 schools) are the other 2 non-conference home games. http://www.lamarcardinals.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/022513aaa.html Quote
nickels Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 2 D2's, a SWAC and 2 FBS? That is an awful OOC schedule. Your AD also chose to have HC against UCA instead of Nicholls? That should go well ::) Quote
