JJWooten Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 i like the schedule.got our money games balanced with some d2's. Technically, it's one DII and one NAIA, but you're kidding right? This is terrible. The only thing worse is Nicholls scheduling 3 FBS schools plus some DIIs. The SLC will continue to be looked down on in football as long as we keep scheduling like this. The front office needs to put a moratorium on NAIA teams. Quote

For a 12 game season I don't mind a non-D1 team to start the season, but what good does playing Bacone do the team? I think this has to do with money. Lamar gets their 6 home games and 2 of them are cheap dates. Quote

The disparity between Bacone and Okie State is enormous and maybe unmeasurable and we play both in the same year. Geez I just can't see how playing Bacone or Panhandle State is a good thing!! Quote

You now you're program is bad when an NAIA school has a higher Massey rating than a DI school. Yikes! Quote
dacards Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 While I'm not the biggest fan, I understand to an extant why it is how it is. First off you have to realize an FBS school was on the schedule and had to be replaced late. It's hard to make schedules much less change them last minute. While the NAIA game is rather pointless dII games have their value the same reason fbs school play us. confidence, easy wins, etc. It'd be great if we actually did move up to sbc and then just play fbs and fcs occasionally. puddin tane Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 there is NO point in scheduling Bacone -nobody wants to see it -have a bye week to recover from beat down Okie St is gonna put on us -and , ...what if they were to win? The season's over Quote

The season's over Why is everyone upset about Bacone? They beat Oklahoma Panhandle last year 40-7! Seems to me they are a better play than OKPan. We had a legitimate team back out on us so we were scrambling late to add a team. Not much you can do... except complain. Quote
Cardinals2012 Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 take the bye and save on electricity Why take a bye week? I love going to games Im glad they are playing it. This is better than no game at all. Quote
Guest bigred360 Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Just win the games on the schedule. Would I like a better schedule? Sure but winning is my main objective!! Quote

Heres2LU Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Let's be honest...until we get above .500 every year against below-par SLC schools, we probably shouldn't complain about the schedule. That being said, aside from Homecoming and McNeese this year's slate is a borefest! Quote
coachacola Posted May 16, 2013 Author Posted May 16, 2013 Saw this on the Football Scoop website: Lamar University (FCS): Lamar University is looking for a home game August 31. Contact head coach Ray Woodard at 409-880-7157 if interested. That was the Oklahoma Panhandle State game. Quote
LUSportsFan Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Good News!!! (I think) Noticed on the lamarcardinals.com website that we have gone back to night games after last year's experiment. The first two home games are scheduled to start at 7:00 pm. The remaining home games are scheduled for 6:00 pm. Personally, I prefer the night games so I'm a happy camper in that respect. Oklahoma Panhandle State is still on the schedule as home opener, but there's still a lot of time between now and then. http://www.lamarcardinals.com/sports/m-footbl/sched/lama-m-footbl-sched.html So far, we have one TV game. The Lamar / UCA game (homecoming) on October 19 (6:00 pm kickoff per schedule) is scheduled to be shown on Comcast Sports Net-Houston. Quote

Comcast Sports Net Houston comes in great locally! I hardly ever miss an Astros or Rockets game because........Oh that's right to watch ComCast you have to drive to Houston. Luckily it's a home game and I can see it in person. Sorry but the ComCast situation pisses me off every single day. Well, maybe not every day but as an Astros fan it is very frustrating. As for the schedule don't whine about the paddy cakes because every team schedules them and it's nice to be able to EXPECT to win once in a while. Let's enjoy all the games and hope that Coach Ray does a better job than he has so far. Quote
LUSportsFan Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Didn't know it, but just learned that Comcast Sportsnet Houston is a joint venture co-owned by the Rockets, the Astros, and NBC Sports. The carrier I use, AT&T Uverse, has refused to pick it up so far because they said historical viewership of the Astros and Rockets didn't warrant the rates CSNH was asking. The article I read raised the question of the data being skewed by the Astros recent history and the Rockets not making the play-offs during the sampling period. I expect it will eventually be settled. AT&T picked up the LHN last year. Sent from my Android device using Tapatalk 2 Quote
geezer Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 While we might not see the game locally that is broadcast on the Comcast network, it will be seen in Houston and that is potentially a plus for recruiting. Quote
TBonesLU Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Are no games going to be on the Lamar On Demand feed? Never mind. They're on the schedule. There is just no link on the "next event" banner on the lamarcardinals.com website when you go to the schedule. Quote

I like that you guys air those things for free, it makes it nice to be able to watch a game up here. Last year, SHSU bent the fan base over by not changing the price of their subscription package even though it was only for 3 home games! Quote

I really hope the LU admins don't get wise at it, but right now, I think there are only a few of us who have to utilize it for home games. I paid $8 (I think) for one home game last year on Kats TV (basketball, if I recall right). Quote
