Pat needs to get a really quality class. Hopefully including more size.

 

He can do well with a group of kids 6-6 or 6-7. We don't even have that this year. But he has to find a really good scorer and build a team that can defend, athleticism AND skills are required if he doesn't sign some big kids.

 

Size matters unless you coach the hell out of the team. He did well with a relatively small team his first year, but has not managed to find a way to play small ball with his own recruits yet.

I don't think your giving Osas and Brown enough credit for Knight's first year. Neither were anything special on offense but they kept the other teams post players under control for the most part. Osas shot blocking ability kept a lot of guards from driving successfully. I know it is pessimistic but I don't think you can win even in the SLC without a solid post defender.

It will be interesting what happening with Eddie and I am very interested in seeing what happens with Mitchell Solomon, the big kid out of Oklahoma that we and alot of other big schools have offered!!!!!

With all due respect, Cplatt, The Knights have never done it like that, and ain't going to start now!!!!!! And I for one, am darn glad that we have a coach here that does things the right way, and therefore teaches the young men in the basketball program to do and conduct themselves the right way!!!!!!

Knightman, I don't expect much recruiting news for 2014 as we only have one senior and five other returning players. With seven new comers it would be sad if there were much talk about more than four or five possible recruits. Granted you have to look at more than you will offer, but I don't expect much action and unless there is an obvious spot to fill and you were positive you had the right fit it won't surprise me if LU signs no one during the early signing period. The coaching staff has to figure what the needs are to improve the team. Personally I'm still hoping for a big power forward or post player as that is what I view as our potential biggest weakness, but I'm not the coach and I can be wrong in my assessment.

I would love to see that too, that we sign a Kevin Durant or Blake Griffin type player that is just a monster down in the paint!!!!!!!!!!!

At a luncheon last week Coach Knight said he did not anticipate signing any players during the early signing period.

Thanks Lamar Pride, sometimes it is better to wait until the season has passed, and then they know where we need some help!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to see how the season plays out, because we have a couple of real bellcows to lean on in Nimrod and Ross, and if can find a couple of more as the season goes on, it could be a special season for us!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stop using your love for the Knight legacy, use your brain and look at the numbers Knightman. LU has one senior. That means that unless an underclassmen leaves or is forced out by Coach Knight there will be only one scholarship offered for next year. Unless Coach Knight gets extremely lucky and gets a top ten ranked front court player there is no way your going to offer that scholarship at this point in the season.
