lcard05
At 4-6 the Cardinals are looking dead in the eye of another losing season. Thank God for the candy Naia or Division 3 schools or the only victory would be Nichols High. SFA may be reachable if we can maybe call the right play, run the right play, not throw it or give it to the other team. I won't put this on these kids. This team had a chance a couple years ago when they had their biggest recruiting class to date. Also the same time they hired Kueck, brought in a 4star QB on Moss, couple other 4 star d1 transfers and a few other highly recruited kids. Didn't take Moss and some of the other kids that left long to figure out Kueck was ole school and had no clue how to beat defenses or call plays in certain situations. ie. 7 yard pass play on 3rd and 15. Seems like other Southland schools seem to thrive on the transfer D1 talent. (Sam,SELA,) We can't corral it or control it. Tell you why. They come here and see that our coaching is lacking, poor scheme and can't seem to get them the ball. They lose interest. We use a scholarship on a 4th string QB from Houston who can't beat out Caleb Berry??? Are you kidding? I could go on forever. To sum it up, 4star D1 transfers, talented recruiting class, Kueck = Cardinals 4-8 (Which one doesn't fit???)
geezer
Everything about the LU program needs improvement. I may not like Kueck, Woodard or some of the other coaches, but the players lack of consistent execution at every position is why LU lost to UCA, NWST and even SAM. 2nd and three and can't get a 1st down with three attempts, kids have to execute. Giving up the big play with missed tackles or over running the play is player execution. While I don't think Berry has the arm strength to throw the deep ball, has fumbled too many times and has made some bad decisions as you pointed out he has beaten out the rest of the qbs on the roster. I am not ready to count the cards out against McNeese either. Of the two remaining games this is the better chance for a win, but you still play the games to win. You had me partially with you until you brought up the last 3 plays of the Central Arkansas game. Even Woodard admitted they called the wrong three plays. 3 pass plays with roll outs to the short side of the field. Uhhhh, not a good idea. I think it was actually 2 yards to go and not 3 which makes it even worse. It is pretty apparent that the players need to be upgraded, which could be said for every year... We can always do better.... LSU's defense needs an overhaul this year too. Responsibility starts at the top though. Coaches recruit as well as call plays and do gameplanning. With that said, i would like nothing more than the coaches to put it together this week and win our last two games. If we win these next two games or even beat SFA and compete with McNeese i'd be happy. Im not hard to please.... But we need to get over that hump!!! I think something will have to change from last week to this week though... I just don't see it happening, but if it did i would be ecstatic! Card Nation
For sure!!! But we have the same players we had against SAM. What do you think happened to the D?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
geezer
Are we sure we have all the same players and nobody is hurt or missing since SAM. I saw a report on TV last night that KJ will be playing defense.
Card Nation
I am not positive on the injury situation. But the safeties are healthy and i think KJ can add alot of speed and athleticism to the secondary... At a minimum he will add depth to that position. Better than him being on the bench, especially considering the offense we are playing this week. As i recall Tebo and Murril have been banged up but i think they are playing. I think Washington hurt himself last week in the game.... If i recall he walked off the field holding his arm, But i haven't heard anything on his status Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
lcard05
Berry's 25 TD passes...2nd in conference, 7th in the nation that said...Woodard's gotta go You know Tane, you can rack up a lot of stats when the other team already has 44 points. They are in total prevent at that point. Easy to go down the field. Team will never break 500 with Kueck or Berry. Either kueck is dumbing it down for Berry or it's just Kuecks scheme is dumb!!! What games are you talking about? The SELA game, or maybe the OSU game where LU only scored 3 points? Berry did rack up stats against OPSU and Bacone, but you have to admit the offense is better this year than the last few years. But I think SELA has shown that you can make big improvements every year, not baby steps like LU has.
puddin tane
the offense is about as interesting as watching paint dry...and our defense has gone into the pisser... FCS record for passing in a game is 730 yards....may fall this weekend..hell, oughta be a fun game to watch
