LUSportsFan Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 (edited) After midnite....5 minutes left in the 4th quarter.....already winning 59-3.....aggi throwing passes on 4th down with their second string QB STILL in the game. Not sure even the devil would advocate for that. I don't have any problem with that. 2nd string QB was a freshman playing his first college game. We didn't pass, but Lamar went for it on 4th down with a running play at Lamar's 45 yard line with 7:35 remaining in the 4th quarter and already winning 59-0 against a team we had already agreed to play 10 minute quarters in the 2nd half. It looks like Carson Earp, this week's starter was in. I don't see much difference. I just see it as trying to get some playing time for the players and getting some situational play practice. I don't have a problem with A&M's play last year nor our play Saturday. That's all water under the bridge though. The upcoming game is against Baylor. Edited September 11, 2015 by LUSportsFan Quote

Lamarcard81 Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 When I left to drive back to Houston in the 4th quarter the Freshman Cox was playing QB. I don't remember us going for it on 4th down and if we did shame on us for acting like aggis. Quote

I think Woodard went for it instead of punting and pinning Bacone deep on their side of the field. Bacone's only field goal did come from this drive that started at midfield so it was more of a gift to them than an attempt to run up the score. Quote

Guest austinred Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 My goals for the LU - Baylor Game: No LU major injuries LU score at least two touchdowns Hold Baylor to 60 points Quote

geezer Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Game started out as one would expect, Lamar had a three and out then Baylor has a sustained drive and scored a td. Lamar 2nd possession changes the early outlook as Lamar drives the length of the field and get a td to tie up the game at 7. Quote
KABrother88 Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Earp might have just earned the starting nod Quote
Mark Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 I think it would be a mistake to pull him after that first drive Quote
geezer Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 (edited) End of the first quarter Baylor 13 - LU 7 Hope the cards can move the ball reasonably consistently. Third possession was a three and out followed by a Baylor three play scoring drive. Fourth possession got us to the end of the quarter but still wound up as a three and out after a penalty. geezer Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 LU recovers a Baylor fumble at the Baylor 34 and then moves the ball down the field for a td and extra point to take the lead at 14 - 13 at the 13:07 mark in the 2nd quarter. Quote
geezer Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Baylor takes the kick off and marches down for a touchdown and two point conversion to take a 21 - 14 lead. The drive was aided by a couple of LU penalties. Quote
cardinal Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 If we'd stop acting like a bunch of undisciplined idiots we might be leading this game Quote
KABrother88 Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Damn what a pick by Ellis...we have to clean up the penalties Quote
geezer Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Three turnovers by Baylor leading to two LU touchdowns. I'll admit I'm surprised. Quote
KABrother88 Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Gotta be more aware of the playclock. 1 delay after a timeout and 1 on the first play of a drive...inexcusable Quote
geezer Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 (edited) LU just doesn't have the speed that Baylor does, Baylor now has two three play scoring drives, all over fifty yards. Edited September 13, 2015 by geezer Quote
KABrother88 Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Guess we're playing the officials too Quote
geezer Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 When is the last time you remember a big underdog getting the breaks from the officials? Quote
