geezer Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Baylor scores with just over a minute left to run the score up a little. Not sure that score will make a difference with the playoff committee, but a solid performance for Lamar against quality FBS program. No apparent serious injuries, so let's get a good start in conference with a win at Sam Quote

Why do you think Baylor ran the ball so well the second half? Quote
cardinal Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Not just no Tebo...our entire defense is just worn down...that is to be expected in an FBS vs FCS matchup though We were subbing in and out on d-line. Yes, maybe late in game we were tired but the loss of tebo was very evident. Quote
cardinal Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 I'm at a loss on qb. Minden played better second half but they gave Earp virtually no chances to throw out of the pocket. Quote
cardinal Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 It was nice to see us play better against a big opponent and thank god we didn't throw in the hat and run every down in the second half like we did last yr vs a&m Quote
puddin tane Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Just got back to hotel... ----Baylor is one helluva dirty team ----We had a lot of bullshit penalties called on us ----I'd start Minden next week Baylors good, not number 4 good Quote
LU4LIFE Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Proud of the way our guys fought but we need to clean something's up. They did much better then I thought they would do so all in all I'm happy with where we are. Hope Tebo is alright because we are going to need him. Quote
KABrother88 Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 So it appears the coaching staff is not happy at all. This tweet from our site's account was retweeted by Coach Woodard [tweet]642901361730805761[/tweet] Then this from DL Coach Carey Bailey [tweet]642921425121079296[/tweet] Quote
puddin tane Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Classless has a face....the prick Sumlin Quote
KABrother88 Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 After tonight I'll say Briles tops Sumlin Quote

CardinalClaw2 Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 That first half was a lot of fun, great effort in the second half. To me Baylor's last TD was not a classless move if that's what coach Bailey was referring too. We had them in fourth and long and we let them convert on a run. Quote
LU Strong Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 I'm proud of Lamar players 100%. Don't to happy with the favoritism the coaches have for Kade #8and Reggie #9..Offensive side , its clearly obvious play calling is directly to give #8 or #9 the ball 90% of the time. While all the other players work like mules and get No Stats. #10 qb is clearly a more stable qb. We have receivers who can fly in speed, but only block for #9 to get his 20+ pass attempts. #1 is a hell of a running back who gets no playing time. I feel sorry for the players on offense who work so hard in practice to hand the glory to touches to ONLY #8 or #9. It takes a TEAM EFFORT TO WIN, not just favoritism toward 2-3 players. It would be nice to spread the ball around to other just as talented ball players then just coaches favorite. Has the Lamar coaches ever hear of the New England Patriots Super bowl champions. Woodard clearly has his favoritism in Beaumont, but no respect in Southland Conference. Worst partabout it, his favorites are not the best players on offense that's a 100% fact. Any team who keys in on #8 or #9 will suck the blood out of Lamar quickly. Quote

cardinal Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 I think manessah miles also was injured Not good! Any injury updates? I hope it's nothing serious. Watching how Baylor was acting I can sort of understand why our guys lost their cool a few times. I wish we wouldn't have and I hope we get that under control but in the heat of the moment... Quote

LU Strong Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I'm not against Lamar at all, I love the whole team and coaches as well. I come from champions teams. U have to spread the ball around . See how many weapons Baylor attack Lamar with. Championship use ALL its weapons to achieve championship. Win a championship then talk to me. I'm Lamar strong. Just my opinion. Win a ring is the goal, it that time Lamar Quote
Lamarcard81 Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Very proud of our Cardinals! We now look more like Sam and McNeese against FBS competition. Hope Tebo is OK because he is critical. I hope everyone realizes that for at least an hour Saturday night LU had way more fans than Baylor around the country. I am all for scheduling FBS as long as we can compete. Sumlin and Briles are both aholes. It is a real compliment to LU that Baylor only dropped one spot in the rankings. Quote
Skinny1 Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Just got back to hotel... ----Baylor is one helluva dirty team ----We had a lot of bullshit penalties called on us ----I'd start Minden next week Baylors good, not number 4 good I agree about the dirty play. My observation was that Baylor players thought they could intimidate the Lamar players at the beginning of the game. Baylor players seemed to be taunting, especially after Lamar took the 14-13 lead, but the officials seemed content just to warn them. It seemed to escalate and Lamar began to retaliate, but got caught or were to flagrant and got the penalty. Overall, I thought the officiating was better than I expected playing at their place, they are #4, & in a division higher. I was most impressed on the"no call" on one of Baylor's long passes when both the reciever and the LU defensive back collided while both going for the ball - most officials would have called interference on the defense. As for their reciever Coleman, he was too fast for us to cover. We could have double covered him, but he would have out run 2 defenders for a TD vs. one. Quote

See how many weapons Baylor attack Lamar with. Championship use ALL its weapons to achieve championship. Win a championship then talk to me. I'm Lamar strong. Just my opinion. Win a ring is the goal, it that time Lamar You win by using your best players, the guys you know you can count on. Begleton and Harrington have proven over and over and over and over and over again they are our best offensive weapons. Why did Begleton get most of the throws? Because he is our best receiver, he is always open, and he almost NEVER drops a pass. Harris and Raleigh are both good running backs but they aren't as good as Harrington. Sorry, but someone has to start. Harris ran well late in the game, he and Harrington ended up with similar yardage so Harris did get used and so did Raleigh. If you watched the first half, Harrington ran great but in the 3rd quarter Baylor changed up what they were doing to stop the read option. We didn't adjust until late in the 4th quarter. Harris had his chances to beat out Harrington but he kept fumbling (last year or the year before). And you talk about all of Baylor's weapons, first we don't have that many weapons but even they kept going to their best receiver..that #1 dude. I guess they overused him? Quote

Thought it was convenient for Baylor when they finally caught one of their guys they flagged is too. My wife was "out" somewhere and she said people were commenting about how we played dirty against Baylor. I think 29's penalty was stupid (where he broke up the pass and then started acting like a fool and pushed the Baylor receiver) but other than that I don't really see where that was the case. I'm glad you posted this "spit in my face" because I was thinking he said he hit in me in my face. When they showed the replay you could see that big lineman get up in his face (which is way too common and the officials shouldn't allow) but he never threw a punch. And then Jones punched him (which I've never understood, why you going to punch someone with a helmet on) which was dumb. But, if I were him and the guy spit in my face with all of the adrenaline that's flowing right there...I'd think most people would do the same thing. Granted, I wish he wouldn't have thrown that punch but it is somewhat understandable. One other thing, did you see Baylor's sideline? Good lord, talk about NO discipline! It looked like a damn fraternity party over there every time they did something good. Show just a little class! But that penalty on 29 for us really hurt. Dumb dumb dumb. And it kind of changed the whole momentum of the game. Quote

Very convenient that when they call Baylor for unsportsmanlike they flag us too to have offsetting penalties. What a damn joke. Quote
