Booze takes to many ill-advised shots. I can't figure out why he took the last one.

I think the big difference between this year and last year is that Ross and Tyran were the inside go-to guys and they've been replaced with two freshmen (Chartman and Nzeakor). Holliday was the team's leading scorer last year but Nick Garth has come in as a freshman and taken up much of the slack.

 

Overall Booze's stats are a little better than last year, but as others have pointed out, not having Ross and Tyran has probably but more pressure on him to do more, leading to TOs and forced shots. Give these guys more experience and throw Weisbold into the mix and this should be a much improved team next year.

 

Coach Roc would bring in a bunch of JUCOs and it would take a year for them to jell then they would graduate and he'd start the cycle over again. The core of this team has 3 more years left to improve. My only concern is not having a good 6-9/6-10 center to at least block shots and rebound. I think Kennedy was brought in to serve that role but hasn't played much.

I think Kennedy has been injured. Booze plays out of control at times and is unpredictable. Garth shoots alot, but shoots a low field goal percentage. He needs to be more accurate and is not as close to being as good as Holiday.

If Tic Price is not fired after the season then the AD should be fired.

Booze took the last shot because that's who the Cards got the ball inbounds to and he brought the ball up the court. My opinion on Price's coaching is that he is a better game coach than Roc was and a better recruiter than Knight but I don't think he will take the program where we the fans wants it to go. While we have a better basketball arena than McNeese which might help in recruiting, his record at McNeese wasn't more than average at best, so average is all I expect he will deliver to LU. The key for Lamar the rest of this year and next year is how Chatman and Nzeakor improve. If they can stay out of foul trouble and continue to play offense the way they have the last several games then a lot of things will open up on the perimeter as well. I kind of agree with the idea of playing them until they foul out as opposed to trying to save them for the end of the game. Maybe if they were in there together early on the come back wouldn't be needed.

In 2014 we finished 3rd in the Southland Conference all sports Commissioners Cup.Last year we finished second.To not consider that would be shortsighted.It makes little sense to kill recruiting and start over at this point.Robin Harmony4-6 in conference,is rebuilding and has 2 real recruiting classes.Tic has one real recruiting class that should prove good over the future but they are Southland freshmen not past year Kentucky freshmen.Fire the AD who balances the budget,does well with compliance,academics,fundraising,construction and scheduling,or do we not want to consider the business and academic side of the program.This isn't Fanduel.We got a good recruiting class tomorrow in football,we did well in basketball early recruiting so enjoy Football signing day tomorrow and realize the glass has and will be more full than empty.Just to reiterate 3rd and 2nd the last two Commissioners Cups doesn't warrant some of the stuff up here even before the seasons conclude.

Price's record at McNeese was impacted by hurricanes where Louisiana didn't fix facilities,dorms and classrooms for 1-2 years while our hole in the Montagne was fixed in months .Basketball teams practiced in high school gyms and baseball played lots of road games.Recruiting and performance were impacted for years.A young new AD came in and did not fully comprehend this,he has later stated as much.Their loss is our gain.His record at UNO,his championships and awards is a better indicator than McNeese after hurricanes.Our budget for assistants is better than many conference schools which should also help us long term.The Lumberjack's budget blows all else away in basketball.For better results join the Cardinal Club and donate or help raise money.We need more Cardinal wings when we say "All In."
