After three weekends of baseball Lamar is currently in 2nd place with a 7-2 record. Although the other games are still going on with Lamar's weekend finished the worst that can happen is for Southeaster La to finish with a sweep of Corpus and maintain their two game lead on Lamar and for Sam Houston to finish today with a win and stay one game back of Lamar.

Dang, thanks for posting. I've been wondering why nobody is commenting on them. They are playing some good ball and they have some guys who can flat out hit. I can't believe all the home runs this team is putting up. And we must have at least a couple of stud pitchers.

Gutty outing by Jayson McKinley today...while he didn't factor into the decision, he went out and pitched 6 innings giving up 3 runs in 4 hits just 1 day after his father passed away.

Weekend pitching has been really good thus far. All three starters have ERAs 2.80 and under (Will Hibbs 2.03, Billy Love 2.38, & McKinley 2.80) while the top two relievers (Jimmy Johnson & Enrique Oquendo) have identical 1.76 ERAs

Good for the Cards! They have had a some nice wins this season and accounted themselves very well in a couple of close losses to good opponents. I am surprised that Big T isn't more active for the baseball and softball teams. The Cards are 16-7 on the year so far but they have played 20 games at home going 15-5 with a 1-2 road record.

BTW, the ladies are playing well too. They are currently 18-11 after sweeping Incarnate Word in 3 games this past weekend. They are 6-3 in conference and 8-0 at their new home field. They are tied for 3rd place in the SLC with Central Arkansas and Abilene Christian. They host the U of H ladies tomorrow and Tuesday before resuming SLC play on Friday in Natchitoches for 3 games against Northwestern State.

Go Cards!

WATCHED THIS TEAM SEVERAL TIMES THIS YEAR AND THERE ABILITY TO HIT STANDS OUT.THEY ALSO HAVE PRETTY GOOD PITCHING TO GO ALONG WITH THE STICKS.DEFENSE SEEMS A LITTLE SUSPECT BUT OVERALL WE HAVE A SOLID TEAM THIS YEAR.LOOKS LIKE DAVIS IS GONNA KEEP HATTEN AROUND SO THAT SHOULD HELP EASE THE TRANSITION WHEN THE SEASON IS OVER.

Thanks to the previous Associate Head Coach, Jimmy Ricklefsen, for recruiting ALL this talent!

Pretty much looks like the same team as last year, except Coach Gilligan is letting them show their talent and not over coaching. Hopefully Coach Gilligan is staying positive and not being NEGATIVE all the time!!!!!!!!!

Fans in the Stands.. Go Cards!
