coachacola
...or will they have a losing record? LU is 2-3 with 6 games remaining. Home games against NW State, HBU and Incarnate Ward. These should be easy wins. Road games are the tough ones: Central Arkansas, Nicholls and McNeese. They have to win out to make the playoffs. Nicholls beat LU at home last year. LU has yet to beat Central Arkansas. McNeese just lost to SELA. My prediction is they go 6-5 and Woodard keeps his job for another year. lu cards
need to win out to have any chance.7-4 would give you an outside shot but not likely.
geezer
Have to win out, but even then with no playoff history I think LU gets left out. McNeese or Central Arkansas are more likely to get a spot with three losses than LU even if LU beats them both.
dirtybird
If they stay hungry for wins, they can do it. If Lamar beats McNeese, that will give them 2 losses. Key players staying healthy, and younger players getting better as the season rolls on. Loosing is not acceptable.
puddin tane
I'm going out on limb, cuz I still don't know how good we are...that said, I think winning out is possible if we can throw it downfield some. I aint buying into Nichols being worth a damn and I really don't think McNeese is good this year. the biggie will be UCA on their damned striped field...that will be tuff, virtually impossible if we don't stretch the field. Nichols-no offense, McNeese-no defense HBU-no hope I agree with geezer, tho...I think if we were to win out, we'd still not get in..unless most of sam houstons team gets arrested and they lose the slc title. the powers that be are too in love with the fricking MVFC..hell, UCA at 4-1 is ranked behind No Iowa at 2-3 I think anything other than winning out gets Woodard the hook ...don't go to sleep on The Word...they can score...cant stop anybody, tho
Skinny1
My opinion is that IF Lamar wins out, they will make the playoffs with only 1 conference loss. SLC usually gets 2 spots and Lamar will have head-to-head advantage against any other 1 loss team, especially if Sam wins out. SFA already has 2 conference losses and if Sam & Lamar win out, Central Arkansas will also have a minimum of 2. As for Woodard's job, so far he has beaten the teams Lamar expected to beat, and losses were to teams that we were expected to lose to. If he can beat McNeese or Central Arkansas & beat the rest, he is safe. If he loses to those schools, he is on the bubble and losing to those 2 plus another school (Nicholls?), he probably is gone. royallion05
If Lamar wins out and finishes 8-3, they would be a lock for the playoffs. Eight D-I wins will not stay home, especially with expanded brackets. Losses would be to ranked teams. Seven wins could get them in, depending on how the rest of the country goes. Western Illinois got in at 6-5 last year.
