LU at A&M CC

Cards come out cold in the second half and go about three and a half minutes before getting their first field goal and missing two of six free throws over the first four minutes. Lamar is currently up by two but CC is going to the free throw line coming out of the time out.

Huge road win for the Cards in a week where the home teams won a majority of the games. The best wins of the week were Southeastern's win over SFA at home and Central Arkansas on the road.Only 731 were at the game which is not as bad as Nichols where only 203 attended or HBU where only 602 were in attendance.Corpus had 2472 in attendance to lead the conference.

602 in HBU's gym was probably a standing room only crowd.

We have been fortunate to play HBU without their 6'11" all conference center and Corpus without their mid major All American guard ,Ehab Amin.Amin had surgery and is not expected to return.Northwestern State has issues with Jalen West and others thus have struggled early too.

Nobody has mentioned it but LU is tied for 1st place in the SLC with McNeese, SELA, Nicholls and New Orleans. They are also second in wins overall just behind SFA who is currently 0-1 in conference. The Ladies are also tied for 1st place in conference at 2-0. Nice start to the conference schedule for both teams.

The lulls in scoring is a bit concerning. Let's hope the men figure that one out and soon. Also, the poor free throw percentage is not good but the Cards were on the road and sometimes its just the gym.

I know it's early yet but I did say that LU's schedule lent itself to preparing the team for conference play. So far so good as they say.

Hopefully, LU keeps winning and the home crowd numbers will continue to grow. The 731 people baller mentioned earlier was the TAMU-CC crowd. If LU can beat NO in NOLA tomorrow night that will be a big road win for LU and could be a big momentum boost for the Cards. Let's hope LU solves their scoring draught issues and they find nothing but net on their Free Throws. Go Cards!
