I'd be there if I lived within 200 miles, but a 10 hour drive is a little rough.

Sam goes seventy five yards on their opening drive to take a 6 nothing lead as they miss the extra point. When will college football players learn how to tackle. On the touchdown pass Lamar had a chance to tackle the receiver but the Lamar defender didn't try to wrap up the receiver and the receiver just bounced off and ran in for the td.

End of the first quarter and although the Cards are down by three. The defense has played much better after the first drive and the offense is moving the ball pretty well.

As Gomer Pyle would say " Surprise, Surprise, Surprise" Lamar leading at halftime. The question now is can LU come out with the same intensity in the second half and get the upset?

Lamar gets a stop on Sam's first second half possesion and moves the ball down field to take a 24 - 13 lead with 12:51 in the 3rd quarter. Only question is that Colbert appeared to twist an ankle on the touchdown run.

After forcing Sam into a three and out Hoy comes in and with the running of Wanza and Walker drive the ball down to the Sam Houston eight yard line but have to settle for a field goal. Cards are up by 14 with 9:14 left in the 3rd quarter.

Robinson has been out the last two weeks with an injury. End of the third quarter and the last drive by Lamar was huge with Colbert on the bench and Sam moving the ball on their last two possesions that got them back within four before Lamar's touchdown to take lead back to eleven.

Cards defense gets a big stop, forcing Sam to turn the ball over on downs with eight minutes left in the game. If the Cards can move the ball for a couple of first downs it will put them in great position.

Lamar gets a huge touchdown with 4:55 left in the game to extend their lead to eighteen points 41-23 which will force Sam to score three times to tie the game.

Lamar still has four games to play this year and two of them against the what should be the first and second place teams after today is finished, but if Lamar wins two or more I among others could be eating a lot of crow by the end of the year.

Did the teams switch uniforms before the game? Looks like the offense and defense are finally getting it done. Better late than never!

Listening to 92.9, the lake, in lake Charles. Apparently, Mr Copeland is having a monstrous night. With two minutes left in the first half, Copeland 28- McNeese 3. Ain't no cowbells ringing tonight.

IMO, Lamar’s OL and the ability to out coach the Sam Pumpkin Heads won this game.
