Good start for the Cards as they take the opening kickoff and go about 80 yards in five minutes for a touchdown.

HBU does a good job of moving the ball deep into Lamar territory before the HBU receiver bobbles the potential reception pass right into a Lamar defenders hands that is returned to the HBU 15 sets up a Lamar td pass to Chase Robinson for a 14-0 lead for Lamar at the 7:30 mark of the first quarter. HBU drives 96 yards in 15 plays for a touchdown at teh 5:58 mark of the 2nd quarter to draw within 7 at LU 14 - HBBU 7. Some poor tackling by Lamar aided HBU several times.

Hoy needs to come back in after the half.

Lamar offense has done nothing in the 2nd quarter with Colbert in as quarterback and after stopping HBU. HBU gets a punt to settle at the Lamar 2 yard line. Two plays later and HBU tackles Banks in the endzone for a safety to close to with in five points and getting the ball back on the kickoff from Lamar following the safety.

No doubt, I’d go with Hoy. Colbert hasn’t looked too bad but we seem to be a much better offense with Hoy.

I hope the D is ready to stuff HBU for the rest of the game. Colbert is looking like Colbert of old. Passes aren't even close.

Wanza runs left twice behind pulling #79, effective. Lamar #79 can't handle HBU #49. Lamar stuffed or #49 is blowing past him to pressure Colbert.

The energy of the entire offense dropped after putting Colbert in... and he's playing exactly like he did before he got hurt. Inconsistent at best. Hoy needs to be the guy. Colbert may have been the previous starter but there's ZERO chance that we would be anywhere close to sniffing a conference championship had he not gotten hurt and Hoy was able to bring his energy and playing style to our offense.

I feel bad for Colbert. He's taken a lot of shots for Lamar, over the last 2 years but I can't help but feel that Hoy is the guy for next week.

Final for the ACU/Sam game ACU wins 17-10. Puts Sam into the bottom half of the conference standings.

Can someone tell this ESPN color guy how to pronounce names? He’s been calling Colbert “Corbert” all year and he just called Rodney Randle “Randall Reid” about 9 times in 2 sentences. Know the team you’re broadcasting.

I believe Hoy is definately the better qb compared to Colbert, but Wanza may be the real key as Lamar justs moves the ball much better when he is the running back. He is simialar to Harrington in speed and strength. Walker is a strong straight ahead runner but the threat of Wanza's speed opens it up for Hoy and Colbert both.

McNeese vs Northwestern is on ESPN3. Wanza vs Hoy tomata, tomato. I think that the key is Hoy's running ability, which opens up the field for Wanza. But, again, tomata, tomato.

Looks like Nicholls and IWU will both be 6-2. McNeese could join them later tonight with a win. LU and ACU both 5-3. Perennial contenders SHSU and UCA will be 4-4. It’s the year of the underdog, except for HBU.
