Lamar MBB hosts New Orleans tonight at 7pm

Lamar hosts University of New Orleans Privateers at the Montagne Center at 7pm tonight. Both teams are 1-1 in conference play. Would think Lamar is a slight favorite.

The Beaumont Enterprise has reported Nick Garth was suspended by Tic Price.

 

The kid is a senior, time to get his act together.

He did not play in the last game. Wait and see if he is back tonight. Personally unless he is having one of his hot shooting nights I'm not sure its that big of a loss. We might be better off getting more playing time for the younger guys and the future. Also it is good to set the expectation for the rest that they follow the coaches instructions or he will sit them out no matter what their status is on the team.

Cards down by three 12-9 with 11:27 left in the first half. Barrett did a good job rebounding and hustling in the first few minutes while he was playing. Cards defense picked up after the first couple of minutes. Almost a turnover a minute. That stinks.

LU down 12-26 with 7:45 left in 1st half. UNO packing in to zone daring LU to take outside shots - which we are not making.

Half time and LU is down by five after scoring the last six points of the half over the last two minutes. Cards have eleven first half turnovers. Shooting 35% with no three pointers compared to 47% and four three pointers for UNO. Lamar is shooting good so far from the free throw line making 11-13 and UNO not shooting a free throw through the first half. Individually Hunter is 4-4 from the free throw line but is 0-7 from the field. Christian Barrett is 6-8 from the free throw line with 12 total first half points and five rebounds. Lady Cards are winning by 12 at the end of the first half in New Orleans.

Ladies won by 19 in New Orleans. Men are going to overtime.tiedat 60.

Cards loose in overtime, No offense and can't make free throws. First half free throws were another mirage. Couldn't make one of two free throws at the end of regulation and only made of 4-9 freethrows in the overtime.

So the Cards are getting worse as the season goes on. Time to start looking for a new coach.

Pathetic loss at home to one of the worst ranked teams in D1. Don’t know how Price expects fans to show up to watch poor play and worse coaching. No offense and out coached on the defensive end.

Women won in New Orleans by 22.

today i make my official conversion to lamar womens basketball.never been a big fan of womens sports but they deserve the support.the men arent very good,no point guard,bad shooting,poor free-throw shooting,no player development.

Sadly I have to agree. We’ve made no progress in the men’s basketball program... gonna have to watch the ladys
