puddin tane Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 (edited) Two terrible offenses. Can anybody give me a hint as to what they think LU was trying to do offensively ? Bad and boring, not a good combo. Kudos to the place kicker Edited September 8, 2019 by puddin tane Quote
Dracula Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Usually, it's Hoy doing to the other team what their QB was doing to LU. This game, it seemed that Hoy was not going to run. Live to fight another day , I guess. Quote
Skinny1 Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 A few comments : MVSU seemed intent on stopping the run and challenge Hoy to beat them throwing. Overall that seemed like a good plan. Offensive line play was spotty at best. Defense really played well enough to win and won the game in OT for Lamar. Special teams play overall was good. Too many penalties due to poor decisions. Officiating was inconsistent and not good. Quote

puddin tane Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Missing Walker hurt the run game. Wanza left (back?), Randle left (concussion?), walker -hamstring.....we might be playing Starnes and a true freshman vs aggy. Quote

Dracula Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 #47, Bailey Giffen, He transferred in from SFA? I gotta believe that someone is putting the stop signal on Hoy's running but that slant works pretty well. Next week, hopefully, Hoy gets back, on the bus healthy, and then we can get into conference play. They did what they had to do. It was ugly but it's a 2-0 start. Quote

SFA and Northwester both lost to Div II schools yesterday. Quote
coachacola Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 I guess it's a good thing that we're disappointed in a win, but it's probably going to get ugly real quick next week. Quote

I agree, someone has to be putting a stop signal on Hoy. Probably concerned about him getting injured before conference. Massey rankings: MVSU was 125 out of 126 coming into this game. They are now 119. We needed ot at home to win. Pathetic. But, yes, it's a win. Quote

I think puddin mentioned how bad the o-line played. I was kinda blaming Hoy for missing some easy throws but the more I think about it...it didn't seem like he had much time at all to throw. Quote

That basically left the rest of the team at a 8-6 man disadvantage. Number 16 the QB was their whole offense. He's a shifty quick little dude. Quote
