Not saying anything positive about Lamar but the rest of the conference seems improved as mid way through three quarters Northwestern St is playing about even with SLU, McNeese is almost even with Sam and HBU has put up fifty points against Texas Southern. So it doesn't look like any school is a big step better than anyone else.

Defense finally steps up and gets a pick six on a poorly thrown pass from SFA. 11:45 left in the game and LU is down by three. Defense will have to step right back up and hold SFA so the offense has a chance.

Down six, need the offense to come alive and score a touchdown!

Defense wasn't able to stop SFA before they were with in field goal range. Ten minuts left in the game and LU is down six. The offense needs to wake up. Not that anybody is playing good on the offense but Hoy definately isn't playing like you would hope from the newcomer of the year last year.

Offense finally makes a big play on a third and eight with a play action pass to the running back for a big gain to the six yard line and then another play action pass for a touchdown for a one point lead with 6:44 left in the game. Now it is up to the defense to get a stop.

Dang, defense makes two good plays then gives up a 67 yard pass to get SFA into the LU red zone. Then SFA scores on a half back pass. So much for taking the lead. SFA gets a two point conversion to take a seven point lead with 5:15 left.

Dang, that was a quick drive.

LU gets one last chance with 1:31 left and the ball on the LU 25. No timeouts.

AS was the case throughout the game the offense had a couple of good plays but then fail to execute and gives up the ball on downs. SFA takes over, runs the victory formation and LU fails to meet expectations again.

My god, that was probably the worst game I have seen since watching LU 4 years ago. That was totally embarrassing. Well, back to the whipping post of the Southland for us it looks like.

This team has major issues it appears. Seems to be a total lack of leadership and “give a shit” amping the players. They are getting beat tonight 13-3, and several players are joking and laughing on the bench.

Hoy has a problem making decisions, whether it is going thru progressions or getting rid of the ball. He does not have a college arm, passes float and can’t seem to effectively throw his receivers open.

Defense is horrible. No pass rush, piss poor tackling, and a overall lack of speed. Fast receivers kill us.

Then the coaching: Play calling is atrocious. Moving the ball in the first half, 3rd and 6 for a first and we throw a 30 yard deep pass down the left side. Stupid.

This was our last chance to beat SFA in the for seeable future. They beat us with a bunch of freshman and sophomores.

I am not sure who else we can beat. So far the only team we have beaten and out played is a NAIA team. Pathetic!

I couldn’t take it. I left after the 3rd quarter. As for the first 3 quarters, that had to be the worst football we played since bringing it back. That was awful. The o-line pass blocking was horrendous. Hoy stinks, doesn’t look anywhere near the same player he was last year, now I see why Colbert started. Hoy is definitely not a leader. How he beat out an SEC transfer is beyond my comprehension. Dultze is a moron. Same plays, same routes over and over again. SFA was 0-4. They gave up 37 points to Tarleton State!! What the hell??!!! I am beyond disgusted

I hear ya. I watched the game again and saw very few positives. The season starts over next week.
