October 12, 20196 yr Dumb play call and poor descision. LU goes for it on fourth and three at the Slam 42. Hoy makes a poor descision on the read and gets sacked at about the LU 49 to turn the ball over on downs. Why not punt the ball a pin Slam deep.
October 12, 20196 yr Good defensive stop for LU. Slam gets a good punt and LU takes over at the 11 yard line but fumble on the first play setting up Slam with a 1st and goal. Another somewhat questionable call, but probably correct. Bigger question for LU is how does the Slam defender get that far into your backfield. October 12, 20196 yr Following the missed field goal attempt, LU moves the ball into Slam territory before attempting a 54 yard field goal with 38 seconds in the half that misses.
October 12, 20196 yr Defense holds and the game is tied at the half. LU has 112 yards total offense and Slam has 78 yards. LU has ten penalties for 111 yards compared to five for 38 yards. The penalties really aided the Slam score. Edited October 12, 20196 yr by geezer
October 12, 20196 yr Surprised Slam didn't try another field goal with the wind at their back. The way this game is going getting the lead might be all it takes. Great stop by LU.
October 12, 20196 yr A questionable turnover on a called fumble by Hoy when the Cards were moving the ball. The replay showed his forearm hit the ground before the ball came out in my opinion. No review.
