coachacola Posted December 1, 2019 Author Posted December 1, 2019 LU up 16-12. Live stats here: https://tsusports.com/sidearmstats/mbball/summary;team=away Quote
geezer Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 Lamar playing good defense and at the under 12 minute time out have a 16-12 lead. Quote
geezer Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 Agreed Sullivan has performed well, but picked up his 2nd foul with about six and a half minutes left in the half so will probably spend most of the rest of the half on the bench. Cards continuing to play well overall. Quote
lamarfan360 Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 Too many fouls and turnovers by LU. Quote
geezer Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 Cards have gone into one of their scoring droughts. Missing field goals and freethrows both. Defense has been good, but TSU has moved out to a six point lead with 11:40 left in the game. TSU 54 - Lamar 48 Quote
geezer Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 From what it looks like on the game tracker, Lamar is not getting back quick enough on made baskets as it seems like when LU scores, TSU comes back with a quick basket. Lamar needs a couple of stops after scoring to get the lead back. Quote
lamarfan360 Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 The Cards need to make their free throws. Quote
geezer Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 Turnovers are killing Lamar. LU has committed turnovers on three straight possesions over about two minutes to fall behind by eight points. Quote
lamarfan360 Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 With a little over three minutes left Lamar is down three. Quote
geezer Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 Wish I could have watched the game as it's hard to say where Lamar let the game slip away, but the obvious is 13-22 freethrows made and 19 turnovers. Granted some of the turnovers were offensive fouls but you just can't give the ball away on the road. Quote
geezer Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 Does anyone have an update on Kopp? At this point if he misses all of the non-conference do you consider red shirting him this year? Quote
PeckEm Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 Bad loss for Lamar. Definitely a bad loss. We are turning the ball iver way too much, and my guess is assists were probably low again. Quote
geezer Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 I would choose to say disappointing loss. Yes free throw percentage is on the players and coaches. Only listening to the game on radio this time Harold's opinion of some of the calls seemed highly questionable and I remember the last time LU played over there the officiating was terrible. Price is always a gentleman in giving the other team credit publicly and I will agree that TSU has played several much stronger programs very solid on the road. I saw one of their road games on tv and I thought LU might struggle against them. Quote
