You know it's funny. Before this season started, I commented that our O line didn't have much size. People commented that this wasn't the SEC and made comparisons to other SLC O lines. Now it seems like we are all in agreement that we need some size on the O line to compete. I hope the coaches feel the same way.

I said it before the season started

I said it when football was getting started up. I recall saying, "I know we don't have a team yet, but our O-Line is going to be too small."

Okay, I didn't, but I felt a little bit of humor can't hurt on here sometimes.

Seen multiple reports that Lamar is recruiting Nederland DE Koby Couron...he's a vital part of the amazing front four for the Bulldogs...he's around 6'2" - 6'-3" and about 230 lbs...he's very active and has good quickness off the edge...plays a lot with his hand out of the dirt so he could probably make an impact as an OLB

How many of those kids are legit D-1 prospects? I hope we are recruiting all of those kids!!

De Shawn Washington plays the other DE for Nederland and he probably has the highest ceiling of the 4 up front. He's 6'3" 275 lbs and probably needs to start paying rent to the other teams back field due to living there. He's a Junior this season and is currently drawing interest from A&M, Baylor, Oklahoma State, and Purdue with A&M being his front runner. His grandfather played for the Chiefs and was 6'7" and his father stands 6'5" so he may even grow a little more and from my understanding teams are looking at him as a DT in the future. Highly doubt he'll sign lower than FBS level

Brock Pryor is one of the DTs. He's 6'2" 275 lbs senior and has been a monster in the middle for the Bulldog defense and has even been played some guard on offense due to injuries. I haven't heard any news on whether or not he is holding any offers but he was just recently invited to play in the National All American Bowl in Myrtle Beach, S.C. but he hopes to be able to turn the invite down because the game is to be played on the same day as the 4A Div. 1 State Championship game. Lamar needs to make a serious run at this kid

The other DT is Caleb Malveaux. He is a 5'11" 300 lbs Junior and was 20-4A Newcomer of the Year in 2011 as a sophmore. He, like Pryor, causes havoc in the middle and he uses his stature as an advantage to keep his pad level below the offense line. He has recieved some interest from a couple of colleges but i cant remember off the top of my head any names. I believe he will be an under the radar pick up for what ever school he attends in 2014

Lamar has an offer out to Kyle Bottoms, a 6'5 305lb OL at Blinn CC. He also has offers from SHSU, ODU, Gardner-Webb and Western Illinois. He'll be graduating early in Dec.

As I had hoped Lamar has made an offer to Brock Pryor according to his father

Ok, awesome. This is the one kid I remember seeing on friday night experience. He had a very good game the night I watched. He seemed a little 'short' for a fbs school so I was hoping Lamar would go after him (unless the one game i watched was just a fluke). And, I hope we just don't ignore that junior defensive end that supposedly is going to ATM. I would court him like crazy and make his say no to us.

If a local kid has an offer from TAMU and Lamar, his choice is simple. Do I want to be on TV every Saturday and be playing for the SEC title or do I want to be at Lamar. I'll let you answer that question.

bright lights and big cities arent for everyone.i think everyone here understands where we fall in the pecking order.pun intended.you still have to recruit any local kid that is a bigtime prospect.never know what the future will bring.family member could get sick, misses the girlfriend, issue with coach, new coaching staff, etc.

Example of one who stayed close to home: Terry Bradshaw.

Although he considered transferring to Florida State from Louisiana Tech after getting little playing time, he went to the local university and finished up well. Bradshaw grew up in Shreveport and chose Louisiana Tech, less than 70 miles from home, over other offers. He's a strong supporter of Louisiana Tech.

If there is a player that the coaches think can fill the need and fits the system, they should offer them. The worst thing that can happen is that the player declines the offer and goes somewhere else.

If there are local players that have big time talent, I want us to offer them.

Glad to see a PT Art player interested in LU. Let's just make sure we are recruiting guys that can succeed at FCS or FBS level if we move up. It is still rare to have more than two or maybe three true FBS quality players on any given team and Pt Art only has the one high school.

Oh, I am sure the coaches are only trying to recruit players who can't succeed.
