PeckEm Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 As a reminder of what could be I will post weekly updates of how Kerwin Bell is doing as head coach of Western Carolina. He was the no brainer choice for our head coach when we went with Morgan instead. At half Western Carolina leads Charleston Southern 31-17. I wonder how long it will take us to score 31 over the entire season? Quote
LU17 Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 Hey, wait just a minute. We had 2 first downs against ACU at halftime. Just how much offense do you want Ol LU to produce. No doubt, we gave another non head coach a head coaching job. Quote

coachacola Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 I have a theory that the athletic department is supported by someone who pretends to love LU but is actually sabotaging the hiring process. Either that or they are just terminally incompetent. How else do you explain decades of bad hiring decisions? Quote

puddin tane Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 maybe the same big money family has been involved since 1970s? gotta be something somewhere that can explain the ineptness Quote
puddin tane Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 just thinking south alabama, old dominion, utsa all started pretty close to the same time we did. while none are powerhouses, i think theyve all had more success than we have had. maybe im wrong, but i think we had more suckage than them. didnt we pass on utsa coach when we hired schultz? I think you may be correct. Or he was in consideration and UTSA offered before us. Idk. Seems like the only semi positive that has happened with LU over last 30+ years are Jimmy Simmons and the decision to bring back football. And if I would have known the total CRAP they were gonna hire, we should have never canned Woodard. Quote
PeckEm Posted September 7, 2022 Author Posted September 7, 2022 And with Morgan, I swear, we hired the LEAST qualified candidate. Quote
PeckEm Posted September 12, 2022 Author Posted September 12, 2022 Week 2 Western Carolina loses to Georgia Tech 35-17. However they did outgain them 390 to 343 yards. Quote
NorthoftheBorder Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 I think that the current UTSA coach was mentioned as a possible candidate at LU when we hired Morgan. But UTSA entered the picture and he obviously jumped on that. Not that our leadership was astute enough to do anything different. Quote
