coachacola
The men play UTSA and SHSU on the road, then ULM and Southern Miss at home, then LSU on the road. If they win 3 of 5 then I will consider it a success. LSU is the toughest one and they lost to Nicholls and really haven't blown anyone out. SHSU is pretty good and they did beat Pacific. Southern Miss plays Northwestern State and McNeese before playing LU so that'll be a good gauge before conference play begins. Does anyone here think LU can win 4 or all 5 of these games? geezer
Sorry, but I see as much of a chance of losing all five as I do winning even four of five.

Lamar beat UTSA by eight, so that game is very winnable. SH beat Pacific by seven and LU loss to Pacific by one. The Cardinals can beat the Kats if they can contain Lamar Wilkerson. He is 6-4, 205 guard who was all-conference last year. ULM got destroyed by UH. SMU beat both Lamar and ULM by double digits. That should be a winnable game. Southern Miss is currently 3-4. However, none of their wins are impressive. They beat Milwaukee by six, Xavier (La) by double figures and William Carey by double digits. LSU has turned things around after losing to Nicholls by two. They beat Wake Forest, North Texas and North Florida since. Realistically, the Cardinals can go 3-2 over the next five games.
coachacola
Sorry, but I see as much of a chance of losing all five as I do winning even four of five. That's what I'm afraid of. This team has a long ways to go before earning my trust.
Skinny1
I think it is too early to judge any consistency of Lamar. Plus, it is about match-ups, so comparing scores or win/losses can be very misleading. I just hope we can achieve consistent execution on both ends of the court and have decent officiating. geezer
Tonight's game is a big opportunity for Lamar. A win would put the Cards two games over .500 and as each of these games directionally get tougher over the next five, this is similar to the position the football team was in when they played UIW. It's the oppurtunity to demonstrate that the team is truly improving by defeating a team on their floor that you have already defeated this year. PeckEm
Had what should have been last shot of first half. Call timeout to setup up awesome play. Buckley drives 1 on 5 and turns it over with about 6 seconds left. We get lucky and UTSA misses easy shot before end of half. That is the kind of TRASH that pisses me off about our coaching!!!! That is the awesome play you design??? Geezus!!!! Just go play on the local playground
geezer
After getting down by as many as twelve Lamar closed the gap to two points before falling back a little to a six-point deficit at the half. UTSA up 44-38. Turnovers are again a problem, Buckley just doesn't take care of the ball. Defensively, Lamar has lost UTSA's three point shooter Wyatt, allowing him to make six of nine in the first half.
geezer
Lamar gets their first lead of the game 48-47 with 15:12 left in the game. Lamar has played solid defense creating some turnovers and capitalizing on a couple of them to get the lead.

geezer
UTSA's seven footer hits his fourth three-pointer to extend the lead to four points. Lamar comes back with a quick two to narrow the gap. 25.5 seconds left

geezer
Last three minutes Lamar makes poor shot selection and unable to force UTSA to foul, along with two critcal turnovers. The other item UTSA's big man is a good three point shooter and Lamar gave him two wide open looks that he knocked down. Same Lamar players making the same end of game mistakes as last year.
