I think he might eventually be able to beat Tebo out.

 

Ha. Seriously doubt that. But maybe we'll go to 4 down lineman and put him and tebo next to each other. Couple of Oompa Loompa's clogging the middle and making plays. That would be pretty sweet!

Typically search once a week for articles about players committing to Lamar...found these two today from way back in July and August that have never turned up in my searches...Plano West RG Chase Woods (6'-3" 267 Lbs) is committed to Lamar

I have a cousin that lives in Royse City. She attended Lamar so I will contact her and see if she knows anything about him. She isn't a huge football fan though..lol

According to the Beaumont Enterprise Super Gold team Lamar has an offer out to Nederland WR/DB Colton Kimler...really good football player and by that I mean he can do a lot...had 875 yards and 9 TDs on just 42 receptions (21 yards per catch) and hauled in 6 INTs (4 in the final game of district against Central that decided who won the DC) as a Senior, 411 yards and 4 TDs on 23 receptions (18 yards per catch) with 6 INTs as a Junior, and 347 yards and 3 TDs on 26 receptions with an INT as a Sophomore. So 1633 yards on 91 receptions (18 yards per catch) with 16 TDs and 13 picks in his 3 seasons...has good size at 6'-2" and 210 lbs and if he's picking off a pass on defense he doesn't shy away from contact. The one negative I've heard is he might not be interested at playing at the next level...but don't mistaken that for lack of passion cause I've watched him play for these last 3 years and you almost never saw I'm not in the game...hopefully I'll get to see him for 4 more years in the red and white...

What kind of eligibility will he have left?...I lost track with all his travels lol

Also seeing on Twitter that RB Carl Harris (@CarlLonte) is transferring to Lamar from Memphis...he just finished up his RS Sophomore season for the Tigers. He was a 3 star recruit out of Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas in 2011...Redshirted in 2011, rushed for 175 yards on 39 carries and 1 TD in 2012 but only appeared in 1 game without recording a statistic in 2013

Lamar made an offer to Jordan Wells, the AP 3A defensive player of the year. He's a 5'11" 277 lb DT from Navasota.

Remember watching him last year in the state championship game...he was a force and it sounds like he got better...hopefully he'll stay under the radar and we can get a commit from him

From what I'm gathering it sounds like Colorado University WR Jeff Thomas is transferring to Lamar...have found no article linking him to Lamar but I dug up his name and that he's transferred to Lamar on Twitter (how did you old farts operate with out this lol). He was a freshman this season and I didn't see any statistics for him so he may have possibly redshirted. One thing I did find was he was suspended the first 2 games this season after he was involved in an issue with holding an airsoft pellet gun out of a car window in the direction of another car with CU players in it...the article below says no arrests were made so it sounds like they were having fun but scared the daylights out of witnesses

That incident happened in 2012, not last year. He had some family issues so he grayshirted in 2012 and was a true freshman this past year.

 

AT COLORADO: This Season (Fr.)He entered the fall listed third at the "X" receiver position and in the mix for playing time; he caught six passes for 104 yards (17.3 per) and two touchdowns in spring scrimmage action. A member of the 2012 recruiting class, he participated in August camp for the first 12 days, but needed to return home because of family issues and delayed his enrollment until January, thus becoming a "grayshirt."

 

He's from the Dallas area and was a Rivals 3-star recruit. With 3 years of eligibility he looks like a pickup if the does transfer to Lamar.

You're right coach...missed that. Doesn't anyone know when the athletic department will release any news of mid year transfers?...from my understanding when the players signs the school can name names...signing day is in one month and it's been awful quite on this thread...hopefully we will start getting some more info

 

Also for the way I've understood a greyshirt doesn't count against your 5 year eligibility clock...if he grayshirted in 2012 he could have redshirted in 2013 and still have 4 years left correct?...I couldn't find a participation log for CU but he doesn't show up on the season stat sheets

Last year OL Gerron Anthony transferred to Lamar but ended up going to Kilgore JC and made 2nd team all-american. It doesn't appear he has any offers yet. I wonder if he might end up at Lamar, although Lamar already has a few OL commits.
