KABrother88
Maybe we can pick Wells up in the next two years!! As much as I would like to, I think he'll dominate and end up at an FBS school...that's why I was hoping he would stay under the radar and sign with us...I honestly can't believe his size kept him from even getting an FBS offer...in the last 2 seasons this guy accumulated 294 tackles, 105 for loss and 24 sacks...from the Defensive TACKLE position... KABrother88
A short little article about signee Dequan Stewart...biggest thing I got from it was he turned down three time defending national champ NDSU for Lamar http://www.nj.com/jjournal-news/index.ssf/2014/02/former_hoboken_football_defens.html

KABrother88
@COCoLinecoach: Freshman Kristian Megowan gets his first offer. Lamar College. FCS school. If he takes it #oneanddone 6'4" 270 lbs Freshman lineman at College of the Canyons Assuming its Lamar University...never heard of a Lamar College (with football at least) And I guess we want him for the 2014 season by the "#oneanddone"...feel like we are pretty good on OL depth and if we took on more it would be in the form of an FBS transfer
Seered
We need KNEE BRACES FOR THE OL A.S.A.P.!!! No more "out for season" because we don't have KNEE BRACES! BULLSHIT!!!!!! old kat 62
I need some help from you guys on this board. The Bearkats just signed a wide receiver named Jeff Thomas who was supposedly a transfer to Lamar from Colorado. Do you know if he changed his mind, had problems in Beaumont or what? KABrother88
I've been trying to figure out what the latest was on him for a little while...reports before signing day were he would transfer to Lamar but he never signed...I had wondered if maybe he was getting grades in order this spring before signing and coming in the fall but I guess that wasn't the case...as for what made him change his mind, your guess is as good as mine...hate that he went to Sam though
geezer
Not that you ever have enough stud players at a position, but maybe when he figured what LU has returning he didn't think he would get enough playing time. After all KJ came from a big time program and he is no longer at wide receiver. a
Card Nation
I was thinking that very thing. Roberts, belgeton, nelson, gladney, handy... I think we have A really good receiving core.. Not that he would not have helped, but SAM's need at that position may be greater
KABrother88
That is a good point...he grey shirted in 2012 and red shirted in 2013 so I'm sure he's ready to see the field...that being said Roberts is a senior and it would have been nice to have Thomas replace him from a size standpoint
Card Nation
Absolutely. It will be interesting watching him when we play SAM at home this year.
old kat 62
It looks like he will be a good addition for the Kat's. We do need help at that position. As far as playing Lamar in Beaumont this year, I think it will be at least a toss-up. I'm still not sold on any of our quarterbacks & the defense has a lot of holes to fill. Our two stongest positions will be running back & tight end. Keeler likes to use the tight ends more than Fritz, so will be a new wrinkle for the offense. I guess everyone will be chasing Southeastern again. Glad we don't have to meet them this year.

LUSportsFan
I was told he had a grade issues. Seems like grades would be an issue both places. Although we have tightened up our admissions standards, I think SHSU's are still a little higher. In any case, sorry we missed him and hope he has success with SHSU except against us. Correct my if I'm wrong with this but since he's qualified now he can go JUCO and be eligible after 1 year vs having to stay 2 years if he was a non-qualifier right?...if so he could play at Kilgore for one year if he thought he'd get a better offer...another good size OL...we'll see how it turns out
