coachacola Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Around the Dauphin Athletic Complex, “9 in 2014″ is printed on the backs of Lamar football t-shirts. The premise is pretty simple: the Cardinals are aiming for a nine-win season, which would be a school record since the school changed its name to Lamar University in 1951. So how can the Cards get to that goal? It will require winning every game they’re favored in as well as the toss-up games. For good measure, they’ll probably need to win at least one game that they’ll be underdogs in. Here’s the breakdown: http://blog.beaumontenterprise.com/inthecards/2014/08/25/the-road-to-9-wins/ Quote
geezer Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Pretty accurate assessment. Personally I think LU may have a better chance at home against Sam or Southeastern than they do on the road at UCA. Quote
Big T Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 I just don't think that UCA is going to be all that good this year. They are always a tough team to play and they are nearly unbeatable on that stripped turf of theirs but Lamar has a legit chance in my opinion. Quote
CS Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 9 is not happening. Period. Don't get your hopes up. 7 is the ceiling. Quote
LU17 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 CS your just an idiot. If you think 7 wins is our ceiling, you have no credibility on this forum. Quote
NorthoftheBorder Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 I think we will know for sure after the Sam game where we are headed for the year. Should be 3-1 going into the game and hopefully we will not have been embarrased at TAMU. Would like to keep the game to under a 50 pt margin. No key injuries throughout the season and we should have a better year. I would be ecstatic with 9 wins. Quote
