Tied at 41 end of regulation. Can LU complete the comeback and overcome the three mistakes that probably have made a 17 point difference in UCA's favor to this point.

Ruling on the field overturned and it was a fumble. Lamar had the ball first and now UCA has their first possession in OT. It's all on the defense. It would be a shame to lose this game. Lamar has over 600 yards of offense in this game.

Damn! Field goal from 25 yds for UCA. UCA 44 Lamar 41. I feel really bad for the Cards. IMO they outplayed UCA but they settled for field goals instead of TDs a couple of times that proved to be the difference.

Double Damn!

We had almost 200 yards more of offense and lost this game. For the love of Pete!!! Will this staff ever win a big game!!

Edit: Had to go to the UCA athletic site to get the game stats as they are not up yet on Lamars. We had more than 200 yards of offense. Had significantly better offensive stats than UCA in every category except turnovers. Geez, it just seems we go out of our way to find ways to lose instead of winning!! Not down on the kids by any means!!

Really tough loss...we definitely had our chances and didn't exectue in very key situations...fumble by Harris on the goaline (ended up holding UCA and getting a short field after a bad punt and got a quick TD)...very poor decision on a pick thrown by Berry in the endzone after he pulled a Johnny Football escape move...Berry's other pick set up UCA in the redbone...and please God take Brown off the field on kickoffs.

It's really not cool to single players out. This team wins together and this team loses together. I've never been more proud of a team than the Lamar Cardinals when they walked off that field last night.

I didn't see this play but I did see the 4th down pass to Devon Brown that was ruled a catch on the field but overturned by the booth. The tv replay looked like it was a catch. The announcers thought it was a catch. I think it was the typical "homer" call. Not blaming this for the loss as LU beat itself in this game., but it might have helped overcome the miscues!!

It was a "Would 'a, Could 'a, SHOULD 'A"...an opportunity lost. All in all, it was an enjoyable game to watch. I just wish the end result was a little different. The Cardinals had way too many missed opportunites. Special Teams - kickoff return for TD. There were multiple times in the Red Zone with either no score or settling for a field goal. On the other hand, there were some great plays on both sides of the ball.

Just a question. Does the targeting rule apply when running through the line or is that only for open field hits? To me, it looked like helmet to helmet contact on Harrington's overtime fumble play with loss of helmet. It might not have made a difference. Just trying to understand when the rule applies.

(Watching another game yesterday, I saw targeting called in open field when the defensive player hit shoulder pads (it was overturned on replay).) I just don't remember seeing targeting called when running through the line.

At any rate, I'm not saying that would be the difference since there were several bad no calls on both sides so they probably evened out in the end.

Here's an article about targeting. I know the rule has been changed for the good this year ith the addition of the replay review possibility of overturning the call and reversing the player ejection so, admittedly, the article is a little dated.

My interpretation of the link indicates that it the act, not where the act occurs that is important.

Well I'm not singling out Harris, Berry or Brown saying they individually cost us the game...using thier names cause they made mistakes in key situation that stung...Harris has had good moments this season but he has had some fumbles...just stating facts...Berry played very well yesterday it's just that the 2 mistakes he made were at critical times...as far as Brown goes I stand by my statement...I've yet to see him be decisive on a kick of return...he even almost went back into the endzone after he left to try to take a knee...if he's not that confident he needs to take a knee no matter what or the coaches need to replace him...Seth Ellis also made a poor decision to field a punt inside the 5 with his momentum taking him back towards the endzone...but the offense bailed him out going 99 yards for a TD in 5-6 plays

Rule only applies to hits on a defenseless player...be it a receiver in the air going for a catch or a QB just after he releases the ball

I think this game had the best offensive play calling of any LU game I've seen, since we brought back football. Didn't like kicking the short fg...in PUDDIN BALL, there would never be a field goal from inside the 5 (unless it's end of game!) 2 drives in the second half had some dumbass running plays..but on the whole, offense did what it wanted, when they wanted.

Defense and special teams never got off the bus.

Devonn Brown didn't causes any turnovers, int, miss tackles, fumbles, barely even played in that game. That's who your singling out due to the LU lost!!!. Blame the lost game on turn-overs. Who created them......? Not Brown thats 4sure...what game were you watching.

What comment are you reading?...I clearly stated he nor any other individual player cost us that game...I'm just tired of seeing him tip toe out of the end zone and get tackled at the 12 yard line when taking a knee would get us twice as many yards...it's been like that all season...and if you're wondering he returned 5 kicks yesterday with an average of less than 14 yards
