Well in addition to Andrew Allen going down with a broken collarbone Saturday night, Case Robinson has also been ruled out for this week with a wrist injury. Shouldn't be a season ender but none the less he won't be available this week.

So this is what we are looking at this week:

1 - Adam Morse

2 - Mike Handy

3 - Kendrick King

Yes you read that right. A true freshman that had been scheduled to redshirt, backed up by a 5th year SR WR who hasn't played QB in a game since HS and a true freshman RB who was just moved there from WR. King did play QB in HS the last 4 years but not in a offense that threw the ball very frequently.

This could be a very difficult week especially being that it is a short one with the game on Thursday.

UT plays a freshman, with a backup with absolutely no passing ability. could be good.

Last year didn't Baylor end the season playing Texas using a receiver as their QB? They lost that game and their offense suffered as one QB after another went down but they still managed to win 8 games. I would think good coaching can over come these types of set backs.

Yes they did, however that was the final game of the regular season and Texas was awful last year. Baylor was 9-1 before getting down to a 3rd string QB and going 1-2 after that. The lone win was their bowl game where they rushed for 645 yards. And this was a Baylor team loaded with talent that made it to #2 in the nation. So even great coaches at times can't overcome injuries.

Saying all this I was mightily impressed with what Morse did in the situation he was put in Saturday night. Down by 14 when he came in and put us in a position to to tie the game. I need to go back and watch the replay but at the time it honestly looked like he baited the DB into the 2nd PI on the final drive. No one was open but he underthrew the WR to draw the flag. But most of all my favorite thing is the kid went through progressions and didn't lock in on one WR.

You can't "open up the passing game" if you don't have QB that can throw i well. So, then you have to rely on being able to hand the ball off..... But then you have to have an o-line that can run block well.... But if you don't have an o-line line that can blow the other team off the line at scrimmage...well....then it gets all sort of ugly and if your a fan that gives a damn about your team winning...it TOTALLY SUCKS to be us!

Honestly, I do not expect us to win another ball game this season. We are damn near as beat up on the o line as we are at QB. 2/3 of those kids are playing hurt right now. It's not going to be pretty.

I really liked what Morse showed he's capable of last week. I wouldn't be surprised if they make him play in one of those inflatable sumo wrestler costumes to keep him from getting hurt.

It looks to me that the coaching staff is incapable of developing a QB. Earp has been in the program a couple of years and he still was not productive at the start of this year and pretty much every game this season. Andrew Allen the same situation. Either Woodard pulls a passing game and some offence out of his backside these last few weeks or he needs to be gone along with other members of his staff.

Besides staying healthy, Earp's biggest problem seems to be between his ears. I'll give Allen a pass (this season) since he's new to the program. I think he has a lot of upside (if he can stay healthy) but so far, I think Morse will be our guy for the next 3 years.

Earp threw for over 400 yds in the game before he was hurt. I think one of the big problems has been an unwillingness to hardly pass at all. And just our overall offensive scheme. Screen passes, slants, tight end, throw deep. I don't know but it's rare we have someone open or uncovered. Makes me think our pass plays are very predictable or our receivers aren't very good. And we clearly have offensive and defensive line issues which is extremely disappointing. I thought our o line would be good this year but arguably our two best linemen have been battling sickness and injuries.

The line play has been bad on both sides. Earp looked like he was really getting ready to get on a roll before his injury. The receivers can't really get good separation for sure but not from lack of effort. Treadway hasn't gotten all the way back from the mono and probably won't. Mono is really tough for a kid his age. I'm not sure what's going on with the shotgun snaps. You really can't blame that on injury, besides maybe lack of reps. D-line it seems is just lack of effort. The coaches need to review tape and just sit a few kids or at least not start them. They got straight up bullied by Nicholls on both sides of the line.
