Lamar Lady Cards win their first round game 8-6 and advance to play Illinois St tomorrow at 1:00 PM EDT. Ladies scored one in the 2nd, five in the fourth and two in the sixth while giving up three in the third and three in the fourth innings. Great job to keep the season going.

Congratulations to the Lady Cards on winning over Cal Poly,8-6. Great game. I was watching the game progression on livestats and it was a nail biter all the way to the end.

Had to go back through the website and reload the bracket as the one that I got off the Lamar website had the wrong start time for both yesterdays and todays games. Congrats to the ladies in reaching the semi-finals tomorrow against the winner of the Kennesaw State-Weber State game which should have just gotten underway. Tomorrows listed starting time is 4:00 PM eastern.

There was a one hr rain delay this morning. Tomorrow's game is supposed to be on ESPN3

Lady Cards up by one. rain delay. either 5th or 6th. Host Liberty University has a top notch facility.

if the game restarts Lamar is due up in the bottom of the 5th inning leading 5-4. They have cut off the ESPN coverage at this time and looking at the radar in the area it looks like there could be several more hours of light to moderate rain. I'm sure they won't want to call the game but I wouldn't be surprised if they decide to pick it up tomorrow.

The NISC website has an updated schedule and the loser bracket game that was to follow the Lamar/Kennesaw St game loser is now scheduled for tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM. No word yet on the rain delay.

Just posted on ESPN3 that the game will resume at 9:00 AM tomorrow morning. Hope the ladies can get a good night sleep and get ready to play in the morning. The loser is going to have it extremely tough in that they will have to immediately play Liberty as soon as this resumed game is over and will have to win three straight to win the tourney. The winner won't have it much better in that they will play again about two hours after the game is over but will only need one win to claim the championship. Go ladies.

IN case you're looking I forgot to mention the times are eastern time. So restart was 8:00. But ESPN3 coverage hasn't restarted. Sounds like a recast of last night.

Lamar got a break in the top of the sixth as with two out the Kennesaw runner tried to make it home from second on an error that allowed what should have been the third out and was then thrown out at home to keep the score at 5-4 Lamar.

Lamar holds on too get the win and advance to the championship game at noon eastern time. Will either face Kennesaw State again or Liberty depending on who wins the loser bracket match up. Only need one more go ladies.

Game over. Lamar wins 5-4 over Kennesaw State. Kennesaw and Liberty loser game to start momentarily. Speaking of contract extensions and or pay raise, Coach Bruder deserves one.

Latest update: LU and Liberty are tied at 4 after 4-1/2 innings. LU is the home team and is coming up to bat. LU took the early lead scoring 1 run in the first and 3 in the 3rd. Liberty took a brief 2-1 lead after scoring 2 in the top of the 3rd with the Lady Cards coming back to retake the lead at 4-2 in the bottom of the frame. In the top of the 5th Liberty tied the game with 2 runs. Right now in the bottom of the 5th LU has runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs.

Hawkins singles scoring runner from 2B. Baca thrown out at 3B. Hawkins advances to 2B on the play. Next two batters retired on fly ball outs. LU now leads Liberty 5-4 after 5.

Liberty did not score in the top of the 6th. Still LU up 5-4.

LU goes down 1-2-3 in their half of the 6th. Still leading 5-4 going into the 7th inning. Ciara Luna has pitched the whole game so far.

Liberty has something going in the 7th. Error by Hankins got the lead off runner on. Single and an error leaves runners on 1st and 3rd with nobody out.

A fielders choice got the runner on 3rd out at home. Batter advanced to 2B on play. Liberty has runners at 2nd and 3rd w/ one out.

Liberty got 3 run HR to retake the lead 7-5. Still only 1 out.

Next batter walked on 4 pitches. Luna on the ropes. Probably a bit of shell shock after the HR. The homer was hit by Liberty cleanup hitter Alexia Taylor.

Next batter doubled. Runner on 1st scored on yet another error by LU. Luna is done for the day. Anissa Rodriguez in. She struck out first batter and the next batter lined out to 3B. After 6-1/2 Liberty leads LU 8-5. And doesn't that just suck. C'mon ladies, let's see a big rally!!!!!
