Dracula
This ESPN broadcast is great unless you work for KLVI. I was just looking at the roster and one guy's stats jumped out at me. Adam Morse is now listed at 6-1 and 234 lbs.; I thought it was a typo. I looked at the group picture and it sure doesn't look like it's a typo. Without anything to back it up, I think that Lamar has a shot to pull off the upset. Call me crazy. That's all I've got.
coachacola
The game may be postponed or canceled. They will decide within a day or two.
KABrother88
NEW: @LamarFootball HC Mike Schultz says "it's a possibility" Saturday's game at North Texas gets canceled or rescheduled.— Danny Shapiro (@DannyShapiro13) August 29, 2017 Lamar and UNT share the same bye week (October 7th). Pro for rescheduling would be getting a little extra practice time in before opening the season as practices have been modified with the storm. Big con however is that that would mean the team would play 11 straight games.
KABrother88
Per the UNT Athletic Director on Twitter, they have been in constant contact with our athletic department and we "fully expect to play the game". UNT has also offered their facilities to us.
Dracula
Lamar is their perceived enhanced scrimmage game, before their regular schedule starts. As for as their concerned, that game is going to be played.

As for as their concerned, that game is going to be played. On the flip side this is Lamar's money game that helps keep the program afloat...they will want to do everything possible to play as well
puddin tane
i hope its cancelled...havent practiced in a week, heads aint in it, could be a bad beatdown
geezer
This team needs to play a quality opponent before it plays a conference game. Odds of the lack of practice affecting the actual outcome of the game other than score are pretty slim. I say play it. Hit somebody other than a teammate. geezer
Do I interpret that Puddin thinks the Cards win the game had they not missed any practices because of the storm? If you believe the Cards will lose the game whether they had an extra practice or not then there is no fuzzy math. A one point loss or a sixty point loss is still just a loss. Like every money game the Cards have played since the return of football the things I would like to see are minimal to no injuries, good field discipline and a solid team effort. Yes eventually I would like to see a close game and even an upset at some point in the future, but getting prepared for conference and a chance to make the FCS playoffs is what these first two games are really about. bigcam2903
Left Beaumont at 4:30pm Thursday on hwy 90 headed to Plano. It took us 3 1/2 hrs to get from China to Nome Once in Nome the road was still flooded, but we made it through. We continued on hwy 90 to 146 to 105 to I-45 to 75 to Toll to our Hotel in Plano We arrived at 2:45am Today. God is good. We drove to see Our Son & his teammates VS North Texas. The game will be played, but our Prayers are with everyone affected by Harvey. Sports pales in comparison to real life, but it can help to our minds off a few pressing issues for a spell. Good Luck Cardinals in the game tomorrow. My Family as well as others will be there in Support. God Bless

I know it's got to be difficult on the kids but life still has to go on. And one of the reasons I like (at least used to) sports is that it helps take our minds off of day to day (or even once in a lifetime) issues/stresses(?). And it's great that you were able to make it thru and support your son and the rest of the team. Go Cards!

bigcam2903
We're excited to be here. Many aren't able to make the Trip, but are supporting in other ways. KA, my Son will tell you himself how he let the Team down last year. I'm one of his biggest fans & critics. Can't tell you how much I rode his Butt for his play last season. I was very disappointed with him because I felt he didn't honor his commitment to his teammates & coaches. Fans should see an improvement this year. Puddin, I have some of the same views as you do as far as the Team is concerned. I can feel the passion in your posts. If only you could hear the Conversations I have with my Son after games. Lol

KABrother88
Apparently ESPN3 is having some technical difficulties across the board today. But Lamar is currently down 17-0 in the first quarter. What little bits I've been able to see they look like a team that hasn't practiced in a week. KABrother88
Lamar got on the board with a 4th down connection from Darrell Colbert to Jarod Wood for a touchdown. It is currently 31-7 8:28 left in the 2nd.

bigcam2903
45-14 Early 3rd UNT scored. Their front line is protecting well. Our line isn't ready for this sort of muscle yet. Take away a few big plays passing & we're doing ok. Tackling needs to be addressed
