lu cards Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 time to get the talk going.can LU get a win streak going against prison tech?gonna be tuff at there place.hell i might even ride over and go watch them. Quote
geezer Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 Mostly depends on which teams show up to play. Slam struggled with SFA at home, but then LU already lost to an SFA team it should have beaten. SLU defeated LU, but lost to McSneeze who lost to Slam. LU played fairly decent in the first half at SLU but gave up big plays in the second half, it was big plays that kept ACU in the last game and oh yea Slam threw for over 500 yards on IW. Bottom line LU go ready to play and the defense better figure out how to get pressure on Slam's QB. Enough pessimism, yea it is winnable for LU. Quote
coachacola Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 LU needs another repeat of 2015 in which they won 49-46 in Huntsville. I don't expect such a high scoring game, but Hoy seems to be improving each game. Given LU's poor pass defense, he needs to really step up for LU to have a chance to win. Update: After looking at the stats LU is actually #1 in pass defense in the conference, but #7 overall in scoring defense. https://static.southland.org/custompages/stats/football/Football_Stats.pdf Quote
Dracula Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 If we were talking about those over priced, prima donna, no good, sorry butt, weak kneed, chokin, Stephen A Smith was right about , &(^%$(*&(% Dallas Cowboys, then I would totally agree with you. There's some fight in this LU dog. Dammit, we want Duke but will settle for slammer U. Quote
puddin tane Posted October 9, 2019 Posted October 9, 2019 I absolutely frickin hate sam and that puke orange, but they gonna take us to the woodshed Quote

lamarfan360 Posted October 9, 2019 Posted October 9, 2019 (edited) If Lamar can get a few injured players back and Hoy can play like he did against ACU, I think the Cardinals have a chance. BTW, I hate SHSU!. The alumni, students and fans are something else. Edited October 9, 2019 by lamarfan360 Quote
Dracula Posted October 9, 2019 Posted October 9, 2019 Sam by 28 They may very well beat the hell out of us but LU will not quit. We got a shot. Quote

Dracula Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 We got Chaz Ward,#38, 6' 231 lb FrRB. I like how that kid moves the pile. His first game was last week against ACU. His stat line 14/58/4.1ypc. I like that kid, no dancing around just a semi on a one lane road. Quote

geezer Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 Decent start for the Cards, as they stop Slam the first couple of possessions but aren't able to manage a sustained drive. Slam aided by a couple of longer plays and a couple of LU penalties gets the ball into the LU red zone but failed to convert on fourth down, so the Cards hold. Quote
lamarfan360 Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 Lamar is killing themselves with penalties! Quote
geezer Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 ONeil got called for targeting on a terrible call. His facemask hit the Slam quarterback on the numbers and as he drove through the player the helmet hit the bottom of the Slam facemask. Getting the officiating you can expect at prison u. After a couple more questionable penalties Slam gets a score. Quote
lu cards Posted October 12, 2019 Author Posted October 12, 2019 Terrible pass interference call. Quote
geezer Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 End of the first quarter and LU is down by seven. Cards get to the Slam 25 but then have those poor descion plays and wind up having to punt. A great punt and coverage puts the ball inside the Slam 1 yard line for them to start a drive. Quote
geezer Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 Cards get a break. Slam was able to move the ball and get a 1st down. But on the next play the center miss snaps the ball and LU recovers the ball in the end zone for a touchdown. The bad news is the defense is going to have to come right back and get a stop. Quote
