puddin tane Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 Nichols ahead of North Dakota at half 10-3 Villanova taking Sela to the woodshed, 31-14 at half Quote
puddin tane Posted November 30, 2019 Author Posted November 30, 2019 Sela decided to play in 2nd half Quote
coachacola Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 Nicholls wins, plays cupcake NDSU next week! Quote
coachacola Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 SLU wins. Plays Montana next week. SLC is getting better! Quote
geezer Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 These were important wins for the conference. If the conference can win two of three next week it will speak to the overall strength of the conference. Quote

Dracula Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 For the second consecutive year, the SLC got 3 teams in. Two opening round wins and a bye, into the second round, for Central Arkansas. If the SLC, can make a little noise, in the second round, going forward maybe 4 teams get in. Congratulations to Nicholls, and SouthEastern. Central, you're up. Quote
geezer Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Don't expect any love come next years playoff picks as the SLC has either lost its only home game and are down multiple scores in the other two second round games. Quote
puddin tane Posted December 7, 2019 Author Posted December 7, 2019 Well, sela let us score a bunch. Figured theyd get bombed. Uca played like crap Nichols looked good, but fourcade sucked Quote
Dracula Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 Don't expect any love come next years playoff picks as the SLC has either lost its only home game and are down multiple scores in the other two second round games. The SLC usually got 2 teams in but that changed in 2018. In 2018, the SLC went 1-2, in first round games. This year, 2019, The SLC returned three teams to the playoffs. The final record was 2-0, in the first round, and the third team, Central Arkansas, got a bye into the second round. All three teams lost, in the second round, but two of those losses were to the #1 seed and the #6 seed. That looks like a conference improvement to me. Quote
geezer Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 Illinois State was third in the MVC and Montana was fourth in the Big Sky. UCA and Nicholls tied for the regular season. The SLC number one has to win against another conference third or fourth place finisher. I'll give Nicholls a little credit they hung in for two and half quarters with the number 1 ranked team but why were they seeded with that match up in this round. The SLC hasn't earned a better pick. Dracula Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 The SLC number one has to win against another conference third or fourth place finisher. THe SLC trio got beat, in the second round, by the #1 seed, #6 seed, and unranked Illinois State. Illinois State plays in the MVC, where they did finish third, in the MVC. The two teams, that finished ahead of them were, #1 seed North Dakota State and Northern Iowa, who is 2-0 in the playoffs, and just beat the #7 seed. Southeastern Louisiana got crushed by Montana, who did finish third, in the Big Sky Conference. Who finished first and second, in the Big Sky, the #3 seed Weber State and the #4 seed Sacramento State. The MVC and the Big Sky conferences are deep, in quality teams. The SLC is on the radar of the FCS selection committee. The SLC delivered going 2-0 and 2-3 overall. Barring a perception collapse, of SLC football, I would expect the SLC will get at least three in the 2020 FCS Playoff. Quote

UCA should have won. Did not expect SE La to win but they got pounded Quote

Did not expect SE La to win but they got pounded I don't get how it was a disaster. The SLC went 2-0 in the first round. That's an improvement over the 2018 SLC trio record of 1-2. This year the SLC went 0-3, in the second round but, geez, look,at who they played. Baby steps first then walking then running. Quote
