WildCard Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Looking at the stats, looks like Cards won everything but officiating. How does team that trailed that trailed much of the game shoot 32 free throws to Lamar's 8? Quote
RustyG Posted November 24 Posted November 24 The missed 1 and 1’s at the end made it closer than necessary, but I’ll take a road win over a solid team anytime. What’s impressed me is how it’s been someone different stepping up every game. Quote

Maybe there could have been some more calls on Montana, but Lamar's defense is very aggressive and the big guys are picking up fouls when the guards get beat and they try to make the stop on the smaller driver by reaching. geezer Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Today versus Oakland. Similar start to yesterday that four minutes in the two big men have committed three fouls. Lamar got off to an early lead but have given it up with turnovers and fouls. Oak up 9-7. Lee has taken three three-pointers making only one. Quote
geezer Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Lamar has worked it's way back into the lead with a couple of Gambrell three's. Lamar up 15-12 at the under twelve-minute timeout. Cards have five fouls in eight minutes. Quote
geezer Posted November 24 Posted November 24 With 7:23 left in the first half Lamar is up 21-17. Cards have slowed down on the fouling and Oakland has now picked up a few. Quote
geezer Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Lamar goes stagnant on offense over the last four minutes, with turnovers and forced shots from the guards allowing Oakland to go on a 12-0 run to take a seven-point lead at the under four timeout. 29-22 Quote
geezer Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Lamar down by three points at the half 31-34. Lamar has committed eleven fouls to six for Oakland. Oakland is 9-13 on free throws compared to 3-5 for Lamar. Rebounds are pretty even with LU -20 and Oak -19. Quote
geezer Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Fourteen minutes left and Oakland is into the one and one with both East and White picking up their fourth fouls. Quote
geezer Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Cards are playing terrible in the second half. Eight minutes left and down by twelve 66-54. Oakland shooting free throws again. Quote
geezer Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Maybe you can blame this on fatigue playing two days in a row and your opponent being rested, but I think you have to play smarter. Quote
geezer Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Last media timeout and Lamar is down by thirteen. So far Oakland appears to have the poise needed to hang on from here. Quote
geezer Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Cards fall 83-68. Lamar will be home for the next three games including the first conference game on December 6th, but first a patsy game this Saturday with Lady of the Lake and then another quality opponent in La. Lafayette. USL for the old timers. Quote
