  1. I will take a 14-12 win against SELA over a 45-42 loss to SELA where we racked up 400+ yards, but lost.
  2. I just want LU to get in and win their first round game, which in all likelihood will be on the road. If they win the first game, that will give them a lot of confidence and maybe they can win two or three games and set up the program for the next few years. If that happens, Rossomando has definitely been a great hire. He already is a good hire! Hoping he stays around for a while. A winning program, even if the offense is not a continuous highlight reel, beats a losing program that puts up big numbers on offense!
  3. Rossomando's presser from Monday.
  4. Relevant comments about LU and the SLC in the Hero Sports bracketology article. SFA is in at 10-2 overall and 9-1 vs. the FCS, featuring one currently-ranked win over Lamar and enjoying a 10-game winning streak entering the playoffs. Lamar and Villanova are projected to hit nine wins. Lamar will have two currently-ranked wins over USD and Southeastern Louisiana. Villanova won’t have any currently-ranked wins. Both teams’ SOS are in the upper 40s or 50s. The last four in include a nine-win Southeastern Louisiana team at 9-1 vs. the FCS with no ranked wins.
  5. Puddin said it, Massey doesn’t like LU!

  7. This is from College Sports Madness
  8. The FCS coaches like us lot more than the rest of the polls.
  9. Well this doesn't value LU very much, being the last team seeded in a field of 24. We have wins over two programs with higher seeds, and our losses are to 1) a team that is on the bubble to be the Group of 5 entry to the FBS playoffs, and the other is to a team that beat the 13th seed with a 6-4 record, ACU. They must be reading Puddin's posts about our offense and discounting our chances. I mean really, we just beat SELA and they are ranked not only ahead of us, but 9 spots ahead. Disrespect of the highest order!! This also tells me that if we do lose to SFA, this guys thinks we are screwed. SELA will get the spot even with us having a head to head win.
  10. I am predicting we will be around 15 in the top two polls this week. Our win over SD is looking better as they are going to be 2nd or 3rd place in the MVC this year.
  11. The more I think about it, the more I realize what a big win this is. And we won it defensively! Defense wins championships! If we can find more offense, then we have a chance to make and do something in the playoffs! We just have a better passing offense with McCown at QB (not that it’s to Pudfin’s standards). I am hoping he is not too injured to play effectively. If he is, we are going to need another great defensive performance this Saturday to have a chance for victory!
  12. Correction, RGV has the highest scoring offense, SELA is second
  13. I am a little surprised we won, but not surprised we won ugly. SELA had the highest scoring offense in the SLC coming in to the game. Defense played great. Hoping for the same next week and for the offense to pick it up!
  14. South Dakota is in 2nd place in the MVC
  15. Very big game next week in Nacanowhere! Winner should have the top seed from the SLC! Although, McNeese will come to Beaumont with upset on their minds! LU has to have a laser focus and finish out strong.
  16. In spite of the lack of offense, this is a big win! Go Cards!
  17. I see on the depth chart Coleman is listed as QB1. Say what you want as to why, but we haven’t lost a game with McCown at QB.
  18. Big game, lose and LU loses any possibility of making the playoffs. A win gets us to the next big game against SFA. We are looking at finishing anywhere from 7-5 to 10-2. McNeese isn’t going to roll over in the last regular season game! Go Cards!!
  19. I have looked at this several times since we brought Football back. Even with the Montagne still there at the North end zone, and the Duaphin complex at the south end zone, there is a way to expand PVU to 35k plus seating without blocking the Dauphin. It would require at least a 6k upper deck on the east side of the stadium. Praying that one day there will be a need for that much capacity for LU football, before I pass or am too senile to even know that football games are being played.
  20. USL's stadium, at time I believe, had a capacity of 42k. The newly renovated stadium seats 30,392. Looks like they have averaged around 22k attendance in 5 home games this year. Not to bad. Even with LSU right down the road, the Lafayette fans are a little more dedicated and loyal to USL than the Golden Triangle fans are to LU.
  21. I saw Super Bowl VIII in 1974 at Rice Stadium. I also saw a Rice-A&M game in 1978 there. I was only there because I had an ex brother in law who was going to A&M at the time and my family went. Funny story, I rooted for Rice in the game (they lost naturally, and there were more Aggies in the stadium than Rice fans) and my whole family was mad at me. This stadium has gone unneeded at a 75k capacity for decades, since the Astrodome was built. Other than the Super Bowl in 1974, sadly, nothing of importance has taken place there. No shade at Rice, it is just that the times changed a long time ago that a private, High End (Ivy League quality) educational university will no likely longer field an elite football program that would require this large a stadium. This is a really good move on Rice's part.
  22. We will see what happens, but I expect LU to drop out of the next iteration of the playoff projections.
  23. Well, we didn’t free fall. Let’s see where we are in 2 weeks.
