  1. I am taking LU. Hoping the team that showed up the last two games is not the one that shows up Saturday. Hoping the team that beat S. Dakota and SELA shows up.
  2. We have made another step forward improving the program and its success. It would be nice to win a playoff game this year as part of the program moving forward. I am happy with the progress, even if I complain sometimes.
  3. Don't know what it will take for the coaching staff to get the team motivated, or for the players themselves to get motivated to play at the next level and win a game or two in the playoffs. Hoping Rossomando digs into his bag of tricks, or someone else's bag of tricks, for some offensive firepower and get on a run!
  4. That will be a gift from God!
  5. Somebody please check to see if the offensive coaches have any nuts. It doesn’t appear they do. As for the earlier comment about QB’s, I think McCown is good. The OC needs to open up the passing game more to fit his strengths. If not, we need a Johnny Manziel (Uugh! I hate using him as an example) type who creates plays out of nothing from what is very vanilla offensive play calling. Or, we need to improve the OL to the point that even Puddin or I could get at least 5 yards every carry.
  6. I am thinking, sadly, that we do not get in. Our two ranked wins are going to be offset by our two losses to subpar teams. Also, our beloved LU doesn’t have a good reputation of prior success to lean on. The loss last night to the cowpokes plays into that reputation and that will likely stick with the committee. if the committee takes three teams from the SLC, they may take UTRGV, they are playing at the end of the season like they are ascending. LU playing like we are descending.
  7. Not much I can say here. Disappointing doesn’t quite capture the feeling.
  8. Game day! Let’s turn it up, win this game, and make a history by shocking the FCS and go deep into the playoffs!!
  9. Well, that explains a lot.
  10. That would be my thought.
  11. Depth Chart for the game against McNeese
  12. We damn sure laid an egg in San Antonio. I hate to admit it, but SFA is the best team in the SLC and I believe they would have beat SELA at home or away. The cards need to step it up an rise to the next level. Take out McNeese and then go on the road, maybe Abilene and ACU, and win a playoff game. Dear Pete, Play McCown! Thanks NOTB

  14. This game will let us know if this team has championship mettle. Hoping they show up big and win the game with a little cushion.
  15. We have a great facility, I am guessing this will make it the best in the SLC and one of the best in FCS! Hopefully.
  16. I heard Carthel say in the post game interview on ESPN+ that his kids turned down more money to stay at SFA and win a Championship. Not sure how many and what kids, but if that is true, then it worked out like he hoped for.
  17. Thanks for running these polls down Coach! I am still a bit depressed from this weekend. All of my teams lost, starting with LU, with the exception of my grandson's peewee football game! I had to take a break to reset a bit. If LU had won Saturday, it would have been historic for the program. I was really hoping for a win. We have the defense to win big, but not the offense. I believe we have the weapons, and an experienced OL, to have a really good offense. We need to stick with McCown, and open up the offense a little more. The lack of offensive production puts to much pressure on the "D".
  18. Rossomando has a big challenge to get them up for next week! A win by McNeese would be their season. We still may make the playoffs, but we will be traveling if we do!
  19. Disappointing! WB and OL play was our Achilles heel in this game. Lack of offensive prodyput to much pressure on the D. Nobody agrees with me, but I would stick with McCown the rest of the way, however long that is.
  20. I have to say, looking at the team statistics and comparing scores against common opponents, it will be an upset for LU to win today. But I think this team has resilience and a will to win. Let’s go Cardiac Cards!!
  21. It’s game day! Go Big Red!

  23. I hate slow days, Especially when we have the most important game for the football program in who knows when in less than 3 days.
  24. We will need the same level, or maybe even higher, play from our defense that we had in the SELA game. And we are definitely going to need more offensive production than we had in the SELA game. Coleman is likely starting, I hope he has the best game of his career to date against SFA. A win puts us in the drivers seat for several things: Conference Championship, 10 win season, Seeding in the FCS playoffs and a first round home game. Not sure what what else the team needs for motivation, but they have two tough games left to get there. SFA will be the biggest test of the season other than NT, and the Cowpokes from Lake Chuck would love nothing more than to play spoiler and ruin all of the above mentioned potential accomplishments.
