Kentucky Christian lost 48-14 to Webber International this past weekend. I think Webber International was our first home game after the return of football. Should be a good game to see people play who you may not see again all year.

I’ll start the predictions. LU wins 52-3 in front of an announced crowd of 12k. No heat deaths but the visitor crowd leaves with a nice tan at halftime.

My prediction is pretty close but I think the defense my have a slip up or 2 so I’ll go 58-10. However, I don’t expect anywhere near 12k in the stands...I’ll say closer to 8. Also it looks like it might be a wet one earlier in the day Saturday and potentially clearing out by gametime. I’ll agree with the no deaths but probably not many tan lines lol

I hope the rain doesn't mess up tailgating for the first dang game. Hoping for overcast which would be ideal. PeckEm!

The LG and RT spots both have or listed meaning either one of the guys could be the starter. This is about what I expected minus the absence of Chase Bridgeman who played LG last season. Not sure if he’s just banged up or if the other guys out performed him in camp.

Bridgeman has been in a boot and riding the one legged scooter around. Not sure of the severity of the injury.

Finish season 2-9. Schulz gets fired and we hire someone good who will throw the damn ball.

Game went the way it should have. A lot of scoring for LU, but there was still enough mistakes to give the coaching staff enough to point at during the film session. Next week should bring them back down to ground level if any of the players think they played against a potentially competitive team. As a whole the SLC had a pretty good weekend. Nicholls won a game versus a FBS opponent even though it was a bad program (University of Kansas), McNeese won against another FCS program (Northern Colorado) and the rest of the teams did about what you would expect winning against lower division teams and loosing versus the FBS schools. Several of the losses to FBS schools were respectable. Next week Lamar travels to Texas Tech who lost to Ole Miss, so I would expect them to do their best to poor it on against Lamar. Bridgeman has a severed deltoid ligament. 4 more weeks on the scooter and he’ll have pins removed then start walking again. He is out for the season but was granted a medical redshirt and will still have 3 years of eligibility after this season.

Nice call on the score!! One more win this season. Who will it be?

Lol. I haven’t decided just yet. It’s either incarnate word or HBU

I'm telling you guys, you had better watch out for UIW. That freshman QB, Jon Copeland, will probably be the best QB Lamar sees all year. Copeland"s numbers, from the New Mexico game, were not spectacular but the kid's got a freakin cannon sniper rifle for an arm. He's a passer in a passing offense. I wish that we had him.

https://www.ncsasports.org/football-recruiting/texas/argyle/argyle-high-school1/jonathan-copeland1

https://uiwcardinals.com/cumestats.aspx?path=football

Copeland, Jon vs New Mexico

Passing 17 /36 /328 yds 1TD 1INT Long44 AVG/G328.00

Rushing 1 TD

Who is the new coach?

https://uiwcardinals.com/coaches.aspx?rc=2014&path=football

Morris joined UIW from Texas Tech, where he spent the previous five seasons as offensive coordinator for the prolific Red Raiders offense.

Morris produced one of the most high-scoring offenses in the country, guiding Tech to annual top 20 rankings in total offense and top 10 rankings in passing offense.

The Red Raiders averaged over 30 points per game during Morris’ tenure and set the single-season school record with 45.1 points per game in 2015

Tech led the nation in 2016 with an average of 566.6 yards of total offense, including 463 passing yards per game.

UIW comes to Lamar and Lamar better have it's A game ready, especially on pass defense, or it's going to get real ugly real fast.

Yep, Tech had a high scoring offense but never really figured out how to play defense. Scoring 50 points per game still doesn't mean a win if you give up 51. Agree that Lamar will need a better defense than they did last year to win a game against a really strong passing team. Only time and the actual game will show where the programs are headed.

so, where does Kentucky Christian rank among these crapola teams we bring in?

Bacone, Texas College, Weber International?

Im thinking they are in a close contest with Texas College for the number one spot.

im all for playing a D2 team, FBS gives us a game. But these lil bitty NAIA schools gotta go.

at least we wont have a Bacone return, they dropped football
