**LU at SFA Game Thread**

Which LU team will show up for this game? The one that lost at home to Northwestern St and SELA or the one that played last Saturday. Historically Lamar teams over the last several years in multiple sports Lamar seems to play on the level of the team they are playing. Since the game is at their place I'm going to predict a loss, while hoping for a solid win.

I am making the drive from The Woodlands, anybody else going? It’s a really small looking stadium. We have been playing really well and there is only one home game left. I want to see another complete game. Hope to see some red in the stands today!

Sfa has a fairly nice stadium. Holds about 14k.

Shock the world, lu in OT...48-45

Broke down and started my free 7 day trial of ESPN+...really jealous of SFA with their play by play guy. Sounds like he has a radio background because the way he describes everything is like a good radio guy does. Would much rather have a guy give too much info than sit there an talk about anything but the game like we’ve had in the past...

Good first half for the Cards as they take a 17-0 lead into the locker room. Lamar has done a lot of blitzing on defense and so far SFA has not really tried to take advantage of Lama's agressiveness. When SFA has moved the ball it has been mostly through the air and seems if they would stick with the pass game and pick up the tempo they might put some pressure on the Lamar defense.

8:29 left in the 3rd quarter and SFA pulls to within 10 following a 50 yard pass to get SFA deep into the Lamar side of the field. The SFA wide receiver was several inches taller than the LU corner back. Defense has been playing I dare you to get the pass off all day and got bit.

Lamar dodges a bullit, as after another 46 yard pass for SFA to the Lamar seven yard line and on the next play the Cards force a fumble and recover the ball. After a couple of good runs Lamar gets another big break as Wanza appears to fumble at SFA 40 and the ball pops up into a SFA player who returns it to the Lamar 25. Fortunately the replay showed Wanza's knee was down just before the ball popped out. Edited by geezer

SFA holds Lamar and on the ensuing possession move the ball down the field through the air for another touchdown with 9:16 left in the game. Cards are going to need to move the ball on the next offensive possesion and then if they have to give the ball up will need to get pressure with the front four to help the defensive backs.

Three games left and none of them will be easy. HBU lead almost the whole game at Northwestern St. The McNeese UCA game was tight the whole way before McNeese got a field goal to take the lead midway in the fourth quarter to retake the lead and held on to win. What the Cards are able to do next week at UCA will tell everyone how much progress the team has made over the course of this season. Nicholls put a similar whoopin on IW as they did on Lamar at home and similar to what Lamar did to IW.

Puddin, this stadium sucks. The only visitor Concession stand is at at one end and one bathroom at the other end. The had a freaking trailer that said public restroom in a corner of the end zone on the field. I don’t know who that restroom is for, but nobody had the guts to use it. This was a tale of two halves. We looked confident and classy in the first half. The second half we looked scared and conservative. If there had been a fifth quarter we would have lost. In the first half, Hoy looked like a qb running OU’s offense in the 70’s. Ripping off big gains and looking smooth doing it. SFA was determined to run the ball and our run defense sad Hell No. Our pass defense is terrible, but our run defense looked awesome. FYI, the had less than 100 yards passing in the first half. At halftime, we almost doubled their total offense. But after the second half, and by the end of the game, they had passed us in total offense. Last couple of drives our D line came up with big sacks. But hey, a win is a win. Nice LU crowd. Marco Borne was visiting LU fans before the game in the stands. Henderson would have never done that.
