TexGator Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 My sources say the Cardinals have offers out to about 30 guys- knowing that several guys are going to be accepting bigger offers (UH, Baylor, SMU, etc.). FCS programs don't do well with early commits. Unless the kid is from the Golden Triangle, if a kid commits this early to the Cards, it tells the coaches shot too low. Quote

I knew he had an offer but this is the first I've seen f him being committed. Good pick up for Lamar. He often gets overshadowed on the field due to the success of DeShawn Washington who is the other DT and is going to A&M and listed as the top DT in Texas per Rivals...but make no mistake...Malveaux was starting up front as a sophomore and earned 20-4A newcomer of the year in 2011 when Washington was still backing up current Lamar DEs Corbin Carr and Koby Couron (Washington just moved to DT this season). I don't remember what the rules are now but it used to be that JUCO players with some required number of credit hours could transfer and be able to participate in spring drills. Quote
