When LU brought back football in 2010 I played around with Photoshop and mocked up an expanded stadium with a seating capacity around 25K. I think this could be done with the limited space they have. Just add some nice press boxes and maybe some luxury boxes and they'll be ready for FBS.

Looks like it, unless they make the playoffs! Nicholls, SLU and even McNeese will be good challenges for them so they still have a lot to prove.

Looking at the Massey Composite ratings, Central Arkansas is at 11 and UIW is at 18. The UAC has 3 more teams in the top 40 while LU is way below UIW at 44. LU has a chance to beat another two top 20 teams. I hope we see schedules like this every year. -
I looked up the plans for the $60 mil Bowers upgrade and it's mainly for the press box and some luxury boxes or something. Looks like it doesn't include much in the way of extra seating. I think it would be very feasible to expand LU's stadium to 25K with lots of luxury boxes and expanded press box. Does anyone have an extra $100 million or so laying around to make it happen?

LU and SLU had good wins but UIW and Nicholls (the top teams in the conference) had disappointing games. LU needs to prove itself against Central Arkansas in a couple of weeks to prove they are playoff worthy.

Meant to say that's understandable. Was Coleman taken out because of injury or because of poor play? He did throw that interception so maybe he has a nagging injury that their not talking about. Which I get, making excuses is not a good look.

The Massey Composite ratings page usually doesn't reflect all the latest polls and rankings until midweek. But right now LU is a 45, still behind UIW but now ahead of Nicholls after their big loss.

I find it baffling that Weber State didn't kick a FG with 2 minutes left in the game to take the lead. If LU was up by 4 then I would see why they would have to go for it. LU went for it early in the 4th quarter so that's not understandable. Weber State must not trust their FG kicker. Why didn't LU try to get a first down? You knew that Weber State would have a great field position to end the game, but with them missing the game ending FG maybe LU knew their FG kicker wasn't any good.

I hate it when they pass up 3 easy points and the other team mounts a long drive but I appreciate the aggressiveness.

The SLC needs to win these games or they're going to be a one bid league again.

I think we're beating a dead horse when talking about LU going to the Sun Belt or moving up to FBS. They keep taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back. But the way things are moving it's going to be the SEC and B10 dominating and everyone else. There probably won't be much difference between a top tier FCS team and a regular FBS team.
