  1. Lamar finally gets their first lead with 3:35 left in the game. The lead changes hands a couple times before Lamar gets the lead for good with forty four seconds left. Cards win 58-55 and will face McNeese tomorrow at 4 PM on ESPN2. Cards also get to twenty wins.
  2. Seven minutes left with Nicholls up by four. Lamar has tied the game once since the opening two minutes of the game. Turnovers and three-point shooting by Nicholls is the difference.
  3. Lamar defeats NM St in the first of two mid-week games 11-5
  4. McNeese defeats NWST 73-64 in the first semi-final game.
  5. Lamar faces a tough task tonight and if they win then again tomorrow afternoon. The Cards face Nicholls for the third time this season having won the first two. Defeating a team that is very similar a third time is very difficult. For the Cards a win would put them in the championship game and also be the twentieth win for the year. Tipoff is 8:30 PM
  6. Cards get second conference win over SFA 3-2 to improve to a 2-4 record in conference. Next up two midweek games with New Mexico State then a weekend conference series at McNeese
  7. Lamar comes back with a 9-3 win over SFA on Saturday to even up the series and get their first conference win.
  8. Women shut out McNeese 4-0 on Saturday to win the weekend series 2 games to 1.
  9. Lamar drops the Friday game with conference foe SFA 2-0 falling to 0-4 in conference.
  10. Ladies split their conference opening double header against McNeese on Friday.
  11. Lamar wins the fourth quarter out scoring Corpus by three and the game, 71-54 Ladies have the second seed and will wait until the semi-finals to play next Wednesday afternoon.
  12. A&M Corpus Christi closes the deficit to fourteen points with a strong third quarter. Lamar leads 53-39 heading into the fourth quarter.
  13. Lamar up by nineteen at the half. Cards open with a five-point lead after the first quarter and then have one of their blow out quarters in the second to lead 37-18 at the half. Taylor is playing tonight so she should be good for the tournament next week.
  14. Softball picks up their eleventh win in a mid-week game against Texas Southern 11-0 in the final tune up before conference starts this weekend versus McNeese.
  15. After the crummy weekend at UTRGV Lamar comes back with a good win at Rice.
  16. Well it's almost the end of the year and Brooks is up for another possible award. While there have been positives this year and back to back strong seasons look good, I'm concerned about next year. Replacing Hamilton and White will be a challenge.   17. Lamar plays strong in the last twelve minutes to get a 65-53 win and secure the number two seed for the conference tournament. Nineteen wins in the regular season and a 14-6 conference record.
  18. Lamar down by six 43-37 with 11:45 left in the game. Cards got a couple of one point leads but then Nicholls opened up the lead again.
  19. 31-30 Nicholls on top at the half. Lamar committed eight turnovers in the first half leading to thirteen points for Nicholls. Lamar leading on rebounds.
  20. It has been a game of spurts so far and Lamar is down by four with 8:48 left in the first half.
  21. Final game of the regular season for both teams and the winner gets the two seed in the conference tournament. Lamar is coming in off of a loss to McNeese and two straight losses. Nicholls is on a four-game win streak.
  22. Softball comes back to win Sunday 5-4 scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh against La Tech.
  23. Lamar got the lead 2-0 in the fourth inning only to give back one in the bottom of the inning and then gave up four more runs a couple of innings later to fall again 5-2 and get swept on the opening weekend. The rest of the spring may be trying to get back to the top.
  24. Lamar drops second straight game 2-0. Definitely not the start we expected especially with the pre-conference success the Cards had.
  25. Lamar gets down by eleven in the second half before making a strong comeback that comes up short. Final score McNeese 68 Lamar 66.
