  1. Softball suffers a sweep at Nicholls with the last game an elven to three loss. Both of the last two games this series Lamar gave up eight run innings to Nicholls.
  2. Lamar comes from behind to take down UIW in the first game of the weekend series and improve to 7-6 in conference action.
  3. Lady Cards drop two on Friday afternoon at Nicholls. First game was 5-1 and second game was 10-4. Cards had a four to two lead going into the bottom of the sixth before giving up eight runs.
  4. Lamar gets another mid-week win 2-1 over Rice.
  5. Marmolejos was a good scorer, but six-foot-tall shooting guards are fairly easy to replace. The ones that are a lot harder to replace is the six-six player that is an outstanding rebounder and scorer. Lamar hasn't had one of these type players in a while.
  6. This may be slightly off topic but all of these athletes that transfer multiple times, how does it affect their graduation rate? As I remember, years ago schools had minimum hours required at their institution to receive a degree. Seems like the number was around thirty which would equate to at least two years so what happens to the athlete that plays at four different schools in four years? Do they get an exception and assuming they have enough qualifying hours get a degree anyway?
  7. Lamar gets an 8-0 win on Sunday to claim a three-game sweep over A&M Corpus Christi. The sweep brings Lamar back to .500 in conference at 6-6 an 18-7 overall. Cards will take on Rice Tuesday before going to UIW next Friday for a weekend series.
  8. Cards win game two 12-6. Game three is scheduled for 1 PM tomorrow.
  9. It took another come from behind walk off in the bottom of the seventh, but the Cards get the series sweep of East Texas A&M with a 5-4 win to improve their conference record to 6-3.
  10. Cards win game one 2-0 on a combination of Hunsaker for six innings and Havard for three innings. Game two will be Saturday starting at 5PM.
  11. It wasn't easy but the Cards swept the Friday double header 8-7 in nine innings for game one an 6-4 in game two.
  12. Ladies look to get their conference run back on the right track with a three game series starting at 1 PM this afternoon against East Texas A&M.
  13. Lamar welcomes A&M CC for a weekend series starting at 7 PM this evening.
  14. Baseball wins mid-week game at Tulane 14-4
  15. Lamar falls in game three at McNeese to lose the series 2-1. Lamar is now 3-6 in conference play. Doesn't look very promising for a regular season championship repeat.
  16. Cards drop game two on Saturday 9-8. Similar story to Friday night as Lamar had an early lead with McNeese coming back to take a lead in the bottom of the fifth. Lamar retook the lead in the sixth, but then gave up the lead in the eighth and tied the game back up in the ninth before giving up the final run to McNeese in the bottom of the tenth.
  17. Lamar drops the second game of the double header 8-4 to fall to 3-3 in conference,
  18. Cards give up two runs in the bottom of the seventh to drop the first game of Saturday's double header 5-4.
  19. Friday at McNeese. Lamar gets runs in the first, second, fourth and fifth innings to take a seven to four lead into the sixth. McNeese scored in the third, fourth, and fifth innings. Cards gave up two more runs in the sixth inning to make the score 7-6. McNeese then tied the game in the eighth. Lamar got a run in the top of the tenth and held McNeese off to get the opening win of the series 8-7.
  20. Lamar takes first game at SFA.
  21. Cards continue a good start to the season with a mid-week win over Baylor.
  22. Cards get a come from behind win scoring three runs in the bottom of the seventh to take a 4-3 before giving up one in the eighth allowing NMST to tie the game back up and then the Cards got a walk off run in the bottom of the tenth for the win. Lamar now as an overall 14-5 record with a 2-4 record in conference.
  23. Cards kept it close for quite a while, but McNeese pulled away to finish the game 63-54. Assume the season is over, but I guess there is a chance for a third tier tournament.
  24. Ladies season comes to an end with a semi-final loss to SFA
  25. Lamar finally gets their first lead with 3:35 left in the game. The lead changes hands a couple times before Lamar gets the lead for good with forty four seconds left. Cards win 58-55 and will face McNeese tomorrow at 4 PM on ESPN2. Cards also get to twenty wins.
