  1. Lamar got the lead 2-0 in the fourth inning only to give back one in the bottom of the inning and then gave up four more runs a couple of innings later to fall again 5-2 and get swept on the opening weekend. The rest of the spring may be trying to get back to the top.
  2. Lamar drops second straight game 2-0. Definitely not the start we expected especially with the pre-conference success the Cards had.
  3. Lamar gets down by eleven in the second half before making a strong comeback that comes up short. Final score McNeese 68 Lamar 66.
  4. Cards play tough in the first half finishing with a four-point lead 35-31. Lamar has hit five three-pointers compared to one for McNeese. Hamilton, Holifield and Dawsey all have two fouls while Shumate and Richards have two fouls for McNeese.
  5. Softball falls twice on second day with a run rule loss to Jackson St and after getting down 4-2 get two runs in the top of the 7th to tie up Southern Miss at 4-4 before giving up the winning run to USM in the bottom of the seventh.
  6. McNeese plays a gritty game but Lamar finishes with the win 69-60. One game left for the Lamar women at Corpus Christi on Wednesday.
  7. Lamar up 32-26 at the half against McNeese.
  8. After a great pre-conference run Lamar travels to UTRGV to open conference action. Friday night starts good but ends in disaster. Cards got three runs in the top of the first but then gave up six in the bottom of the inning, six more runs in the bottom of the fifth and one in the sixth to get run limited 13-3.
  9. Softball splits day one in Hattiesburg with a loss to Jackson St and a victory over La Tech moving to nine and seven on the season.
  10. Lamar wins 68-49 to secure their third straight twenty-win season. Davis ends the game with eighteen points and thirteen rebounds to lead the Cards. This leaves Davis six short of the all-time Lamar total rebound records. Lamar has two games left for the regular season with McNeese on Saturday to close out the home season and then travel to Corpus next Wednesday to finish the regular season.
  11. Nicholls manages to trim three off of the Lamar lead in the third quarter 46-34. Taylor hasn't played since going out with the injury.
  12. Nicholls plays better offense in the second quarter scoring twelve points, but Lamar keeps the pressure on scoring fourteen points to take a 32-17 lead into the half. Taylor went out with a knee injury in the second quarter and Denley picked up her second foul and sat out the latter part of the quarter.
  13. Women open their next to last home game with an 18-5 opening quarter over Nicholls.
  14. Ladies' comeback from a 3-1 deficit to score three runs in the top of the sixth inning and hang on for the 4-3 win at Sam Houston State to move to 8-6 on the season.
  15. Cards hang on to win 6-5 bringing the record to 9-1 before the conference season begins this Friday.
  16. Lamar falls 73-61. Only good news out of this evening is that NWST upset SLU so Lamar holds on to the second seed for now, but most likely will have to win both of the last two games to maintain that spot. At this point the shame of this season is that three of Lamar's five conference losses are against three of the five worst teams record wise in the conference.
  17. Hamilton missed some big free throws and UIW hit a couple of big three-pointers to rebuild the lead. Lamar still fighting hard but down thirteen with just under two minutes left.
  18. Lamar has been climbing and are down by eight points with 7:30 left in the game. Whereas UIW only had one turnover in the first half they have ten turnovers so far in the second half. UIW also not shooting as well this half.
  19. Definitely a deep hole to try to climb out of trailing by eighteen points at the half. 41-23. UIW winning with good shooting making ten more field goals than Lamar including two more three-point attempts and only one turnover compared to seven for Lamar. It well take a large turnaround for Lamar to comeback.
  20. UIW off to a hot shooting start leading 28-11 with nine minutes left in the first half. UIW shooting 67% from the field including four of seven from the three-point line. Lamar also has four early turnovers. Lamar needs to clean this up fast or it is going to be a long evening and a missed opportunity.
  21. Lamar finishes the weekend sweep with a 5-3 win Sunday afternoon.
  22. aCards run rule Albany 21-0 to improve to 4-1 on the season. Wrap up the series with Albany tomorrow.
