I am really excited about the game Saturday and the new season. This is the first group of 4 year seniors we have had and I appreciate their efforts. Everything done Saturday night should be about LU players and coaches and fans. So I want to ask the LU administration to please keep any johnny manziel nonsense off our scoreboard Saturday night. I still can't believe that someone made the idiotic decision to put atm v. Alabama on our scoreboard the minute we beat Nichols and won our first home conference game in 20 plus years. We should have had a celebration video of past victories and teams to show after that game at least.

- I said on our Red Zone pregame show and I'll say it again, this team needed an opener like this. The comfort/confidence level of the team in practice was high and it needed to translate into a dominant opening night win vs an inferior opponent. IMO a 32-13ish type offense struggling to get into rhythm, turnover filled sloppy game would've been almost as bad as a loss to the teams mental state. Besides a slow stretch around the beginning of the 2nd qtr they went out and did exactly was should be expected of them versus a team like OPSU. - Caleb Berry looked sharp and spread the ball around very well. 315lb JC transfer DL Joshua Frost is no longer on the roster. Can anybody update why and is this a loss. We are already a little thin and light at that position.

Lamar's scheduled to play Okie State on 9/14 while La Tech already has games scheduled on 9/7 and 9/21 so not sure how that will pan out. With 4 home conference games next year (NW State, UCA, SFA and McNeese and 5 away games (2 FBS, 3 conference), I bet we'll see at least 1 non-D1 home game, probably 2 of them.
