The weather should be good for tailgating. Looking forward to some great food and a game of washers. We still haven't decided what's on our menu. Anyone have any suggestions? Also, I didn't realize how organized Lamars tailgating was until I went to the South Alabama game. That was a cluster.

  8. Jeremy Johnson is listed as the #2 QB on the depth chart. Looking at the efficiency ratings, Bevil has a 79 while JJ has a 178, but that's very limited action. The top 3 rushers are Garrett, Venson, and Johnson. Link: http://www.lamarcardinals.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/091511aaa.html

The public will not know who the Lamar starting quarterback is this week until the game starts Saturday, coach Ray Woodard said Thursday. Woodard also said he will no longer publicly discuss injured players. Woodard's plan is to keep everything in-house. That's why he closed all practices to the public and has not allowed players to speak with media this week. "I think other teams know way too much about us and we don't know a (expletive) thing about them," said Woodard, whose team plays 7 p.m. Saturday at home against Incarnate Word (1-1), a NCAA Division II team from San Antonio. Incarnate Word coach Mike Santiago said Wednesday a depth chart sent to him by…

  18. The lesson from Saturday's loss is simple for the Lamar University football team. "It shows where we need to be," sophomore center Kyle Gillam said after the Cardinals (1-1) lost 30-8 at South Alabama. "We're going to come out (today) and correct everything." The last chance to make corrections before Southland Conference play begins at 7 p.m. Saturday at home against the University of the Incarnate Word (1-1), an NCAA Division II school in San Antonio. Incarnate Word's coach is former Lamar assistant Mike Santiago. Like everyone else I'm disappointed in the game. Not so much they lost, but how they lost. Maybe you guys know the answers to these questions: 1. How often did Lamar use the pistol formation?
