Like everyone else I'm disappointed in the game. Not so much they lost, but how they lost. Maybe you guys know the answers to these questions: 1. How often did Lamar use the pistol formation? I read that they were going to use it about 70% of the time. 2. The SHSU fans sure were happy when they got rid of Whitten. I'm not sold on him as offensive coordinator and maybe he's not the right guy at Lamar. So far this year and last year the offensive has been terrible in big games. 3. Has the defense taken a step backward? Probably too early to tell, but South Alabama seemed to be able to turn on their offense when they needed to. Maybe Roger Hinshaw leaving …

I hope all of you that came were treated well, and got a chance to eat some good seafood. I know it's rough sitting on that east side looking into the sun. I almost got our season tickets on that side to get closer to the 50, but thank goodness I didn't, the shade of the press box is much better. Good luck the rest of the season.

Everything seemed ripe for change. The Lamar University football team opened the second half with the ball and quickly marched to the South Alabama 1. Another comeback, like that memorable one last season at Southeastern Louisiana, appeared possible. And then it happened. On second-and-goal from the 1, a snap from center Kyle Gillam to quarterback Andre Bevil landed on the grass. The Cardinals lost the ball. And with that, they lost whatever reasonable hope they had for a comeback in a 30-8 loss to South Alabama at Ladd-Peebles Stadium. "That was our comeback," center Kyle Gillam said. "That was our momentum. Then something like that happens, that just killed …

So I had this idea without thinking twice to ask anyone, but the closer game time gets, the more upset I am about ESPN3 not being an option anymore. Do any fans in SETX have webcams that could be used to give a live feed of the game for us out-of-towners? This could be done via skype or something. Please let us know. ---------------------------------------------------------- Someone should set up a webcam pointed at his television showing a live feed via skype or something...just saying. I know we have already scheduled some big games in the next few years, but if we have a great season, we might be able to schedule more big games. LU VS OKST on ESPN or something like that would be huge. Like i always say, fill the seats and win big and they will come. Any rumors of possible candidates for the future? Realignment will help us slide in somewhere and then bowl games on the horizon. i like it Cplatt

Do you think that LU could get a contract like UTSA did to get any of their games broadcast-ed on the LHN? I think UTSA has a five game agreement.

Reports from Beaumont Enterprise sports writer/ Lamar beat writer Chris Dabe and Fox 4's Nick Canizales who both attended Lamar practice today, Bevil and Johnson only two QB's taking snaps today. Dabe reports that it looks as though the QB battle is down to Bevil and Johnson.

Look at this, it's pretty funny. http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=466&f=3200&t=7878792 I tried doing one for South Alabama, there are even a few of their players I though I could draw a comparison to, but I guess I'm not creative enough.

Well after several days of heavy rainfall across most of Alabama last weekend, the weather looks great for Lamar's 2nd game of the season. Dry air is abundant across most of the Southeastern States and im going to to say Kickoff Temperatures will be around 84 degrees with mainly sunny skies. As the game progresses it will gradually get cooler, middle 70's. Many of you are wondering about the field conditions. We are in early September, yes there's been a lot of rainfall in that area but as dry as it has been (Dew Points in the lower 50's to near 49 degrees, and with humidity around 25 to 35%) coupled with the strong Sun angle, I doubt there will be any problems. I just re…
