  1. Ladies split their conference opening double header against McNeese on Friday.
  2. Lamar wins the fourth quarter out scoring Corpus by three and the game, 71-54 Ladies have the second seed and will wait until the semi-finals to play next Wednesday afternoon.
  3. A&M Corpus Christi closes the deficit to fourteen points with a strong third quarter. Lamar leads 53-39 heading into the fourth quarter.
  4. Lamar up by nineteen at the half. Cards open with a five-point lead after the first quarter and then have one of their blow out quarters in the second to lead 37-18 at the half. Taylor is playing tonight so she should be good for the tournament next week.
  5. Softball picks up their eleventh win in a mid-week game against Texas Southern 11-0 in the final tune up before conference starts this weekend versus McNeese.
  6. After the crummy weekend at UTRGV Lamar comes back with a good win at Rice.
  7. Well it's almost the end of the year and Brooks is up for another possible award. While there have been positives this year and back to back strong seasons look good, I'm concerned about next year. Replacing Hamilton and White will be a challenge.   8. Lamar plays strong in the last twelve minutes to get a 65-53 win and secure the number two seed for the conference tournament. Nineteen wins in the regular season and a 14-6 conference record.
  9. Lamar down by six 43-37 with 11:45 left in the game. Cards got a couple of one point leads but then Nicholls opened up the lead again.
  10. 31-30 Nicholls on top at the half. Lamar committed eight turnovers in the first half leading to thirteen points for Nicholls. Lamar leading on rebounds.
  11. It has been a game of spurts so far and Lamar is down by four with 8:48 left in the first half.
  12. Final game of the regular season for both teams and the winner gets the two seed in the conference tournament. Lamar is coming in off of a loss to McNeese and two straight losses. Nicholls is on a four-game win streak.
  13. Softball comes back to win Sunday 5-4 scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh against La Tech.
  14. Lamar got the lead 2-0 in the fourth inning only to give back one in the bottom of the inning and then gave up four more runs a couple of innings later to fall again 5-2 and get swept on the opening weekend. The rest of the spring may be trying to get back to the top.
  15. Lamar drops second straight game 2-0. Definitely not the start we expected especially with the pre-conference success the Cards had.
  16. Lamar gets down by eleven in the second half before making a strong comeback that comes up short. Final score McNeese 68 Lamar 66.
  17. Cards play tough in the first half finishing with a four-point lead 35-31. Lamar has hit five three-pointers compared to one for McNeese. Hamilton, Holifield and Dawsey all have two fouls while Shumate and Richards have two fouls for McNeese.
  18. Softball falls twice on second day with a run rule loss to Jackson St and after getting down 4-2 get two runs in the top of the 7th to tie up Southern Miss at 4-4 before giving up the winning run to USM in the bottom of the seventh.
  19. McNeese plays a gritty game but Lamar finishes with the win 69-60. One game left for the Lamar women at Corpus Christi on Wednesday.
  20. Lamar up 32-26 at the half against McNeese.
  21. After a great pre-conference run Lamar travels to UTRGV to open conference action. Friday night starts good but ends in disaster. Cards got three runs in the top of the first but then gave up six in the bottom of the inning, six more runs in the bottom of the fifth and one in the sixth to get run limited 13-3.
  22. Softball splits day one in Hattiesburg with a loss to Jackson St and a victory over La Tech moving to nine and seven on the season.
  23. Lamar wins 68-49 to secure their third straight twenty-win season. Davis ends the game with eighteen points and thirteen rebounds to lead the Cards. This leaves Davis six short of the all-time Lamar total rebound records. Lamar has two games left for the regular season with McNeese on Saturday to close out the home season and then travel to Corpus next Wednesday to finish the regular season.
  24. Nicholls manages to trim three off of the Lamar lead in the third quarter 46-34. Taylor hasn't played since going out with the injury.
  25. Nicholls plays better offense in the second quarter scoring twelve points, but Lamar keeps the pressure on scoring fourteen points to take a 32-17 lead into the half. Taylor went out with a knee injury in the second quarter and Denley picked up her second foul and sat out the latter part of the quarter.
